Why Travis Kelce Found Eras Tour Cameo to Be ‘A Whole New World’

Travis Kelce is no stranger to performing — namely during the Super Bowl more than four times — yet something was different about dancing alongside Taylor Swift during her Eras Tour.

“I’ve been on a few stages in my life, [but] that one was definitely the most shocking,” Kelce, 35, told WestwoodOne Sports in an interview published on Saturday, February 8. “I felt like an ant in a whole new world. That stadium, the lights, the crowd and how they went insane. The whole time I’m thinking, ‘Oh, snap, I have a job to do. I gotta lock in.’”

Kelce, of course, made his Eras Tour debut during Swift’s third concert at London’s Wembley Stadium in June 2024. He made a surprise appearance during her Tortured Poets Department pantomime, where he pretended to revive her after “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” ahead of a rendition of “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.”

Despite his initial nerves, Kelce knew he needed to make his dance break “fun and entertaining” for the approximately 90,000 fans in attendance.

While the thousands of fans inside London’s Wembley Stadium were busy losing their minds, members of the Chiefs […]

“Tay gave me the opportunity to go out there and have fun, [and so I] went out and show her how much fun we could really have up there,” Kelce recalled. “Sure enough, the crowd was off their rocker. It was insane and there for quite a while. It’s a memory I’ll never forget, that’s for sure.”

Kelce, who has been dating the 35-year-old pop star since summer 2023, further noted that his concert mindset had certain “similarities” to how he gears up for football game days.

ICYMI, Travis Kelce recently traded in his cleats for dancing shoes at The Eras Tour in London, and he’s breaking down how that now-viral stunt came to be. “It’s very unlike me. I’m not big, I don’t like going on stages. There were a lot of people out there, really didn’t feel at home,” Travis, […]

“I was up there with my guys Kam [Saunders] and Jan [Ravnik], and obviously Taylor, and there was that team aspect of, ‘We’re here together and I’m not up here all by myself,’” Kelce explained. “There was that team feeling. So, there was some camaraderie and some chemistry up there, but … the biggest difference is that I’m in a football uniform and a helmet and I got a completely different game plan than going out there and having fun.”

Kelce plays tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs and has won three Super Bowl trophies. The team is now looking for a third consecutive championship win on Sunday, February 9, in Super Bowl LIX against the Philadelphia Eagles.

During the 2025 big game, Swift will presumably be in the stands to support Kelce — better known as “the guy on the Chiefs,” a lyric change from “Karma” that she introduced in November 2023 — alongside friends and family.

Swift was spotted in New Orleans earlier this weekend, enjoying a date night with Kelce on Friday, February 8, before meeting up with his pregnant sister-in-law, Kylie, the next night.
