Where the Selling Sunset Cast Stands on the Biggest Feuds

Selling Sunset is struggling under the weight of two divisive feuds — but which sides have the show’s stars taken?

Selling Sunset, which debuted in 2019, follows employees at high-end Los Angeles real estate brokerage the Oppenheim Group. The Netflix series boasts expensive homes, but it is the drama between the cast that keeps viewers coming back for more. In the original episodes, it was all about Chrishell Stause and Christine Quinn, but eight seasons later, things have only gotten more complicated.

Chrishell’s issues with Christine became a trademark part of the show, so it was cause for concern when the latter left in season 5. It didn’t take long for Chrishell to find someone new to be at odds with once Nicole Young was promoted to main cast.

The pair initially found themselves feuding when Nicole accused Chrishell of only getting real estate listings because their boss Jason Oppenheim had a crush on her. Chrishell, who dated Jason for several months in 2021, shocked viewers with her attempt to gain the upper hand in the feud by claiming Nicole was on drugs at a group dinner. (Nicole denied the allegations.)

Netflix Selling Sunset getting renewed for season 9 feels inevitable, but will the whole group be back? The reality series, which debuted in 2019, became an overnight success for Netflix as viewers were introduced to employees at high-end Los Angeles real estate brokerage the Oppenheim Group. Selling Sunset always has fans talking — whether it […]

Throughout multiple seasons, Chrishell and Nicole made numerous attempts to mend fences. But Chrishell publicly wrote her costar off after watching Nicole accuse Emma Hernan of having an affair with a married man. Emma denied the rumors and has since called Nicole out for allegedly lying in order to present a false story line on Selling Sunset.

Then there is Chelsea and Bre, who didn’t get off on the right foot and the trouble continued to follow them. Chelsea rubbed Bre the wrong way in season 6 when she questioned her home life with Nick Cannon.

Bre, who welcomed son Legendary with the TV host in June 2022 defended her unconventional relationship. Chelsea attempted to make amends with Bre when they filmed season 7, but the pair were still talking out their issues while filming the reunion months later. Bre was subsequently accused of bringing her friend Amanda Lynn around onscreen as a way to intentionally out Chelsea’s husband Jeff Lazkani‘s alleged infidelity, which ultimately led to their split.

The back and forth between many of the costars ultimately led to Netflix skipping a season 8 reunion. There’s also the issue of multiple cast members — Chelsea and Chrishell — threatening to walk away from the show if they have to film with certain people.

Selling Sunset is all about the drama, but according to the cast, the context isn’t always fully present on screen. The Netflix series, which debuted in 2019, revolves around the employees at high-end Los Angeles real estate brokerage the Oppenheim Group. Selling Sunset has covered everything from the cast’s love lives to their office drama […]

Chrishell Stause

Bre vs. Chelsea: The soap star formed a friendship with Chelsea in season 5, which was right before Bre joined the show. As a result, Chrishell has remained more loyal to Chelsea since they knew each other longer, but she oftentimes has attempted to play peacekeeper out of respect to both women. Chrishell sided with Chelsea in season 8 after questions arose around Bre’s intentions with her onscreen conversation with Amanda.

Nicole vs. Emma: As for Nicole, it didn’t take the drama with Emma to help Chrishell form her opinion. Chrishell has consistently been at odds with Nicole. After seeing Nicole’s comments about Emma, Chrishell took to social media to make it clear that she won’t work with Nicole again for the show.

Mary Fitzgerald

Bre vs. Chelsea: Mary defended Bre’s decision to tell Chelsea what she heard about her husband. Earlier that season, Mary had her own issues with Chelsea to hash out, so it makes sense why she had publicly shown Bre — and Chelsea — support without choosing a side.

Nicole vs. Emma: Mary has stood by Nicole because of their lengthy friendship. But after Nicole accused Emma of being with a married man, Mary tried to shut the rumors down on the show. She subsequently questioned Nicole’s comments and appeared to understand Emma’s frustrations more.

Jason Oppenheim

Bre vs. Chelsea: The business owner has tried to retain both Bre and Chelsea as his employees despite their issues. He hasn’t directly picked a side, but Jason did make an attempt to bring Bre back at the beginning of season 8.

Nicole vs. Emma: Despite giving Nicole a hug during her argument with Chrishell during Selling Sunset season 8, Jason hasn’t explicitly chosen a side. His primary focus is that his agents sell more homes and bring in more commission.

Emma Hernan

Bre vs. Chelsea: After building a bond with Chelsea, Emma committed to the friendship more in season 8. Emma made it clear that she sided with Chelsea and distanced herself from Bre as a result of their ongoing drama.

Nicole vs. Emma: It took Emma a second, but she has since come to her own defense against Nicole’s claims regarding her personal life.

Brett Oppenheim

Bre vs. Chelsea: Considering Brett largely doesn’t work at Oppenheim Group, his thoughts on the coworker scales have remained neutral.

Nicole vs. Emma: Brett also hasn’t said much about the accusations against Emma — or that Nicole was responsible for the claims.

Chelsea Lazkani

Bre vs. Chelsea: Despite initially trying to figure out her issues with Bre, Chelsea walked that attempt back once her marriage was brought up on the show. Chelsea has clarified that while she will film with Bre — she will leave the show if her friend Amanda returns.

Nicole vs. Emma: Chelsea had the same energy as Chrishell when the duo called Nicole out for allegedly repeating false rumors while filming the show. Chelsea’s loyalty to Emma never wavered after season 8 premiered.

Bre Tiesi

Bre vs. Chelsea: Bre has maintained that there was no plan to bring Chelsea down by discussing her marriage on the show. While Bre understood why some of her costars sided with Chelsea, she didn’t regret her attempt to alert Chelsea to what was being said offscreen.

Nicole vs. Emma: While Bre initially had a friendlier relationship with Chrishell, she shifted away from that group. Bre ultimately filmed with Nicole in Selling Sunset season 8 where they both discussed the rumors about Emma.

Amanza Smith

Bre vs. Chelsea: Amanza is one of several people at the Oppenheim Group who has tried to remain neutral with the drama.

Nicole vs. Emma: After shutting Nicole down when she tried to bring up rumors on the show, Amanza showed her support for Emma on social media as well.

Nicole Young

Bre vs. Chelsea: Nicole largely didn’t get involved in her costars’ feuds. She was focused on her own issues with Chrishell, which only died down once there was new controversy to focus on.

Nicole vs. Emma: While she has expressed remorse for Emma’s reaction to the claims being brought up on screen, Nicole hasn’t expressed that she would take any of it back. If anything, Nicole has doubled down after facing backlash.
