When Does The Talk’s Last Episode Air on CBS After 15 Seasons?
The Talk is coming to an end after 15 seasons on CBS — but when does the last episode air?
CBS announced in April that The Talk was renewed for its final season after concerns about cancellation. The network later confirmed that the final week will include a celebratory sendoff in anticipation of the show’s last day on Friday, December 20.
Hosts Sheryl Underwood, Akbar Gbajabiamila, Amanda Kloots, Natalie Morales and Jerry O’Connell have since been preparing to bid farewell to the show and the fans during the shortened season. Throughout its last month, The Talk featured a variety of celebrity guests and giveaways. Overall, The Talk gave more than $2 million in prizes to the audience.
The Talk, which debuted in 2010, was created by Sara Gilbert, who hosted the show for the first nine seasons. Her panel of cohosts included Julie Chen Moonves, Sharon Osbourne, Holly Robinson Peete, Leah Remini and Marissa Jaret Winokur. As hosts came and went, Aisha Tyler, Eve, Carrie Ann Inaba, Marie Osmond and Elaine Welteroth also had an opportunity to take over.
Us Weekly had the chance to sit down with the hosts ahead of the final episode to reflect on their time on The Talk.
“We have and we had such great chemistry,” Morales, 52, exclusively told Us. “I think it always boils down to the team around you and the chemistry, and we all brought something so unique and different. I think everybody has such a unique background.”
Morales is going to continue working with CBS on 48 Hours, CBS Mornings and other programs after The Talk.
“Whenever people come out here, they just love the opportunity to just bond with us,” she continued. “Our guests have always just appreciated that this is not a gotcha show. This is not a show that’s here to get a headline. We’re here to let them be free and have fun with us, and we have fun everyday.”
O’Connell, 50, meanwhile, discussed the connection he formed with the group, adding, “These are forever friends. I don’t think this is over. It is funny when a job ends though because you have to go out and make plans now to see each other. But it is going to be funny if we see a story that we normally talk about at work. I’m going to be sending it to you guys!”
After hosting The Talk for over a decade, Underwood, 61, had countless positive memories from the set.
“We’ve learned a lot from each other,” she shared with Us. “I look at this as a great evolution. It’s time for us. A phenomenal journalist [Natalie], actor, father [Jerry]. You’re talking about Broadway star [Amanda]. Akbar, football player. Me coming in at season 2. We came for our time. We did what we needed to do. Now godspeed to great things.”
The Talk airs on CBS weekdays at 2 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT with the final episode scheduled for Friday, December 20.
