What Kim Kardashian Wore For Her First Wedding to Damon Thomas

Kim Kardashian’s evolving bridal fashion and engagement rings have been a focal point in the latest season of The Kardashians.

In a new episode aired on Thursday, March 20, Kardashian, 44, reflected on the ensembles she wore for her past three wedding ceremonies, including the unconventional look she rocked in 2000 for her Las Vegas elopement with music producer Damon Thomas.

An audacious departure from tradition marked her inaugural ceremony, a clandestine affair with Thomas. “My first wedding, I wore leather capris with a leather halter top with no back and big Prada wedges. It was so cute,” she said, a testament to the youthful, early-aughts aesthetic.

Kardashian was 19, and Thomas was 29; the two split after three years. The Skims founder previously revealed when she tied the knot in Sin City, she was in her “wild phase,” and it was the first time she took ecstasy.

Kim Kardashian and Damon Thomas’ whirlwind romance came to an end three years after they exchanged vows. Kardashian and Thomas tied the knot in 2000 when she was 19 years old. “I used to be so dependent on the guys I was in a relationship with,” she told Harper’s Bazaar in 2011 of her first […]

With her “wild phase” behind her, Kardashian’s avant-garde choice still starkly contrasts her subsequent, more classically inclined bridal styles.

When she said “I do” in 2011 at a private estate to then-professional basketball player Kris Humphries, to whom she was married for 72 days, she wore a Vera Wang ball gown. The bespoke design featured a basque waist, sweetheart neckline and Chantilly lace appliqués.

“I wanted a princess vibe because I was like, when else will I ever do this?” she recounted. Notably, Kardashian remained relatively quiet about the custom lace long-sleeve dress by then-Givenchy Creative Director Riccardo Tisci for her 2014 Florence wedding to Kanye West.

Beyond the gowns, her engagement rings have sparked more discussion this season.

During the Thursday, March 13, episode, Kardashian reflected on each ring she received from her three respective marriages during Kim and Khloé Kardashian’s trip to Mumbai, India, for the wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant.

“I wonder what my next ring shape will be?” Kim mused in a conversation with Khloé. “For my last and final hurrah,” hinting at the idea of walking down the aisle a fourth time.

Her first ring from Thomas, now 49, was a 12-carat cushion-cut diamond, which she said she still possesses. However, she plans to pass down the Lorraine Schwartz 15-carat cushion-cut diamond sparkler band from her now-ex West, 47, to her daughter, North, now 11. (Kardashian and West also share Saint, 8, Chicago, 6, and Psalm, 5.)

“And so that one I’m going to give to Northie because she was with me when I got engaged,” Kardashian gushed on the reality show. “And she held it after and I took a photo. She was just a few months old.”

As for Humphries, now 40, Kardashian admitted that her now-ex paid “a fifth [of the cost]” for the $400,000 custom Lorraine Schwartz 18-carat ring.

“I didn’t keep it,” she admitted. “I was pregnant with North, still married to him, and in order to divorce him, he said I had to give him the ring in the divorce.” This surprising revelation underscored the financial aspect of her high-profile relationships.

What’s more, Kardashian’s ongoing openness about her past dresses and jewels provided a new glimpse into the star’s personal history and evolving bridal style while sparking speculation about her romantic future (and future wedding rings).
