VPR’s Scheana Shay Reacts to Rumor She Doesn’t Tip at Chargers Games

Scheana Shay and Ariana Madix are both tackling rumors running rampant in the Vanderpump Rules universe.

The first of two reports by celebrity gossip account Deuxmoi was allegedly about Shay, 39.

“I just received a blind item on Sunday, which is clearly about her because the pseudonym is good as gold. And this anonymous tipster wrote in a certain reality star known for not being able to make a first does not tip,” Deuxmoi said on the Tuesday, November 13, episode of the “Deux/U by Deuxmoi” podcast. “For someone whose reality TV show is centered around the service industry, they certainly don’t know proper tipping etiquette.”

The blind item continued: “I’ve helped them with a few skinny margaritas at numerous Chargers games and have been stiffed every time. I have also helped her costar who wasn’t really sure what they did to me, but had a pinot grigio who tipped 50 percent.”

Stars aren’t always just like Us because sometimes they go above and beyond to show their appreciation by leaving a jaw-dropping tip behind. While tipping between 18 and 20 percent is considered “normal,” a handful of celebrities have developed the generous habit of tipping 100 percent or more when they dine out. For many famous […]

Guest host Thea de Sousa said it was hard to believe that Shay, a frequent attender of Chargers games who can seemingly be identified by the use of “Good As Gold,” a Shay single, wasn’t generous with her tips. (The second costar mentioned is likely Stassi Schroeder who once infamously told Shay, “I’m not really sure what I’ve done to you but I’ll take a pinot grigio during season 3.)

“I’m surprised because at the first …BravoCon in New York, not this past BravoCon, but the one before, actually hung out with Scheana and Brock [Davies] at a bar. I don’t remember if she tipped or not, but I do remember her being really, really overly nice to the servers,” Sousa recalled. “At least she’s nice. If she doesn’t leave money at the end, then probably not liking her as much. But during the whole time we were there, she seemed so friendly to them.”

Shay left a response to the claims, writing via Instagram, “That’s interesting bc the first time I’ve ever even ordered a margarita at a game was last week and we tipped $50 at the open bar 🧐.”

While some things never change, the cast of Vanderpump Rules is used to a shake-up … and a touch-up. Vanderpump Rules was introduced to Bravo viewers during a special episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in January 2013. Season 1 starred Lisa Vanderpump, who was a Beverly Hills Housewife at the time, Stassi […]

Elsewhere in the podcast, Sousa claimed to have heard that Vanderpump Rules is preparing to film season 12, which is the show’s last and will only be in production for three weeks.

“The reason for that is because the show just got way too expensive for Bravo to produce. Every single cast member at full salary gets a bump every season,” she claimed. “So now we’re up to season 12. You can imagine how much the main players are making. And the show became, actually by season 10, that was going to be the last season. Bravo couldn’t afford it anymore. … So now a shortened season will bump the salaries down because it’s not filming for a full season, so they can afford it.”

Sousa was allegedly told the information by a source close to the show.

“Everyone’s ready to go. Everyone’s ready to film. And then Bravo comes in and doesn’t green light it. So hopefully they’ll green light it in a couple, you know, next month because I think it takes about two weeks after the green light for them to go cameras up,” she continued. “Every single person has signed on already. Every single person is back. It’s just a matter of in what capacity will they be back and that of course is salary dependent. … This could change. I could absolutely know nothing, but that’s what I heard.”

Several Vanderpump Rules stars have stepped away from the Bravo series over the years. Cameras started following the staff at Lisa Vanderpump’s West Hollywood restaurant SUR in 2012 after she rose to fame on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Season 1 of Pump Rules, which premiered in January 2013, starred Lisa, Stassi Schroeder, Jax […]

In the comments, Madix, 39, asked “😂😂 what?”

Madix debunked the rumor after Us Weekly recently learned from an insider that “discussions are still ongoing” regarding season 12. The delay in filming new episodes comes in the aftermath of Tom Sandoval‘s affair with Rachel Leviss — and subsequent split from Madix. The immediate response to the drama was captured for additional episodes of season 10 and the entirety of season 11.

Bravo chose to take an extended pause ahead of season 12. No new updates have been shared as the cast continues to focus on new opportunities amid the hiatus.

Vanderpump Rules is currently streaming on Peacock.
