VPR’s Scheana Shay Proves She Didn’t Photoshop Family Photo in Hawaii

Vanderpump Rules alum Scheana Shay is getting ahead of the photoshop accusations.

Shay, 39, shared a Christmas-themed photo from Hawaii on Wednesday, December 25, writing, “Mele Kalikimaka from the Davies family! 🎅🏻.” That same day, the reality star took to her Instagram Story to confirm she was actually in Oahu with husband Brock Davies and their 3-year-old daughter, Summer.

“Haters will say it’s photoshopped … proof we were here,” Shay captioned a video of her, Davies, 34, and Summer preparing to take the photo. “Merry Christmas!”

Shay, who rose to stardom after appearing on Vanderpump Rules for a decade, has often used social media to address rumors — and call out Bravo viewers who have criticized her.

The most recent joke among fans has been asking how everything affects Shay amid claims she’s being self-absorbed. “Feels like something’s finally about me. I’m laughing when I’m seeing these,” Shay said on her “Scheananigans” podcast in April. “I’ve even retweeted and responded to people because I’m just like, ‘You know what? I like to be in on the joke.”

Shay became the butt of the joke after her comments in season 11 about how deeply affected she was by Tom Sandoval‘s affair with Rachel “Raquel” Leviss — which caused his split from Ariana Madix.

“I just am hurting still. Why can I never have one moment where it can be about me? I am hurt,” she told Lala Kent during a March episode. “I lost a very, very dear friend. I am struggling with that. But I am not allowed to feel anything because it is only about Ariana. I am tired.”

Later in the season, Shay surprised people when she said she wanted to be a contestant on Dancing With the Stars years before Madix, 39, got the opportunity. The social media response caused Shay to clarify what she actually meant.

“That was my genuine emotion in the moment, and as cringe as I might be sometimes, I don’t ever regret sharing. That is literally my job here,” she explained on her podcast in March. “This season, I was priding myself on trying to be the most open and honest version of myself — even if at times the audience may not agree with me.”

Shay added: “I went way out of my comfort zone this season and I’m hoping that y’all can show me some grace and just understand that a lot of the things that we’re navigating are relatable. I’m putting it all out there because I hope that it helps people who have gone through similar things.”

Despite the current distance between them, Madix came to Shay’s defense. Madix got involved in the drama in August when the official Instagram account for Broadway’s Chicago musical shared a video of her with a caption that read, “One of the hardest working women we know! @arianamadix is only with us until Sept 1!”

In the social media clip, Madix was listing her packed schedule for the summer, which included her cohosting gig on Love Island USA, performing over 100 shows of Chicago on Broadway and an appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen.

Bravo viewers took the chance to poke fun at Madix’s then-costars, with a fan writing, “I know @scheana punching the air rn cause you booked and busy lol 💀💀💀.” Madix responded by defending Shay, adding, “Let’s stop with this ❤️.”
