This Moisturizing Body Wash Replaced My Post-Shower Lotion

Just a few weeks ago, I was talking with my friends about how we thought it was strange if people we knew didn’t use lotion after showering. “They must have really good, hydrated skin” we concluded. Little did I know, we just weren’t reaching for the right body wash.

I’ve long been a person who’s had to use body lotion immediately post-shower. The second I’d put my feet on my bath rug and the steam would start to slip away, I could feel my legs start itching right away. I always figured it was because I’m an avid self tan user and the ingredients in that are masterful at drying out the skin. I didn’t think there was even a solution to the after-shower dry spell without lotion until I tried Olay’s Indulgent Moisture Body Wash — and it’s even a $13 drugstore find!

For the first time ever, I tried the moisturizing body wash after the brand sent me their 7 Days of Indulgence package. The package consisted of their Rose and Cherry Creme version of the body wash and the Mango Butter and Vanilla Orchid scent. It also included a few other goodies too, like a movie projector, a coffee mug warmer and an Alo Yoga gift card, to help me prepare for the holidays. My favorite of the two scents was the mango one because the fruity scent is more mood-boosting, but I’ll reach for the rose one on the days I just want to feel relaxed.

I could already tell the body wash was a cut above the rest from the second I squeezed my first bit out of the bottle to wash my legs. I’ve never felt a body wash texture that’s so velvety smooth, feeling part-lotion within itself. It gilded across my skin like butter, while foaming a little as well — a truly spa-like luxurious experience. It definitely feels more expensive than just $13.

Another reason it seems like it should be more expensive (though I’m glad it’s not so I can stock up on it myself when they’re out), is it’s skin-boosting main ingredient and star of the show: vitamin B3 complex. In case you’re not already familiar, vitamin B3 is a form of niacinamide, which is an essential nutrient for cellular repair. It helps to boost the skin’s barrier, which is crucial to the skin’s ability to retain moisture. It’s a true powerhouse though, as it also helps soothe inflammation, soothe pores and smooth fine lines and wrinkles.

By the looks of it, I’m far from the only person who’s fallen in love with this body wash though, Amazon shoppers have too. Not only have 2,000 bottles been bought within the last month, over 1,000 shoppers have given it a five-star rating too.

One shopper, who concurred with my claim, said that “you don’t even need lotion” after you use it.

“When I tell you your skin is left soft it’s just like a baby’s bottom,” they said. “And the scent to die for. Every person is different and I am very picky about my shower soap but this is a must try!”

Of course, as someone who loves their self care showers, I’ll always love to lather up with lotion when I have the time. But it’s nice to know that when I’m in a hurry, I can skip when I use the Olay Indulgent Moisture Body Wash and still have hydrated skin — even in the winter! A little goes a long way, especially with its large 1.44 pound bottle, so the $13 is well worth the price.
