The Valley’s Jesse Lally Hints Season 2 Is Even Better After Splits
The Valley viewers should expect the unexpected when they strap in for season 2.
During an exclusive interview with Us Weekly while attending Kathy Hilton’s DirecTV Christmas Party in Los Angeles on Tuesday, December 10, Jesse Lally teased what fans can expect from the show after a dramatic first season.
“If season 1 was one of the best reality TV shows, season 2 is gonna blow it out of the water,” he said.
Jesse, 43, credited each of his costars for bringing their all while filming.
“Literally every single person stepped up to the plate,” he added. “I knew while I was filming season 1 what the arc of the story line was gonna be. [Now] I have no idea and I’m filming all day everyday for season 2.”
The Valley, which debuted in March, reintroduced Bravo fans to Jax Taylor, Brittany Cartwright and Kristen Doute along with their new circle of friends. The trio originally rose to reality TV stardom when they appeared on Vanderpump Rules before their respective exits in 2020.
The spinoff series was promoted as a show focused on a group of friends as they leave their wild, younger years behind and instead focus on parenthood and adult life in California’s San Fernando Valley. In addition to Jax, 44, Brittany, 34, and Kristen, 41, The Valley introduced Us to Kristen’s now-fiancé, Luke Broderick, Danny Booko and Nia Booko, Jesse and Michelle Lally and Jason Caperna and Janet Caperna.
Some of the major moments from the first season included Jesse and Michelle’s marriage coming to an end and Brittany questioning her future with Jax. In the wake of Vanderpump Rules’ shocking cast overhaul, The Valley is expected to also include more appearances from Lala Kent, Scheana Shay and Tom Schwartz.
“We’ve all been friends for a long time so they’re gonna be part of it. Like I was at Vanderpump Rules shoots in the background,” Jesse noted to Us. “We’re all gonna cross over, but our crew is a great group. Look at how season one went. So they’re always gonna be around. [And] if the new Vanderpump Rules is anything like the old Vanderpump Rules then it’s gonna be a hit.”
Season 2 is also expected to dive into the aftermath of Jesse and Michelle’s split. The first season wrapped filming before the pair officially announced their divorce. By the time cameras picked back up in summer 2024, Jesse and Michelle have both moved on as they continue to coparent 4-year-old daughter Isabella.
“If you’re going through a divorce, I think it would be hard on anybody,” Jesse explained. “There’s some crazy ups and downs and we had hoped that we would be able to go into it and be that cool couple that got divorced and everything’s great. It just didn’t happen that way. So you’ll see it kind of unfold. You’ll see some sides being taken — it’s not easy.”
Jesse maintained that he and Michelle are doing their “best,” adding, “You go a couple days and it is great. Then something else comes up — and it’s just the way it works when you’re separated and going through a divorce. The divorce is taking longer than we thought so it’s interesting. But we do our best.”
The former couple’s priority will always be their daughter.
“Isabella doesn’t need to be around that toxicity. She just wants to see the best and she’s doing the best she can, which is good,” Jesse continued. “She’s enjoying her mom’s house and my house and the schedule that we have works perfectly for her. That’s all that matters.”
