Taylor Swift Shows Off $32K Watch at Ashley Avignone’s Birthday Party
Taylor Swift’s watch collection just got the best addition.
Swift, 34, showed off a dazzling watch while hugging stylist and longtime friend Ashley Avignone at her birthday party on Saturday, December 28. The Cartier design, which retails for $32,200, featured a white face with black Roman numerals that were surrounded by dainty diamonds. The watch was set in a gold casing with a matching band.
Swift, who is not historically been known to sport a watch, elevated the piece with a black sweater and her go-to glam: black winged eyeliner and her signature cherry red lip. She tied her look together with her blonde hair worn down and styled in a blowout.
Swift has recently been growing her watch collection, as she showed off a $54,000 design at Travis Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs game in November.
Sarah Chapelle, the author of Taylor Swift Style: Fashion Through the Eras, who has studied Swift’s wardrobe for over 13 years, took to Instagram on Monday, December 30, to share her thoughts on the singer experimenting with watches.
“Over the last year, Taylor has upped her jewelry game and has explored the art of the stack in various categories (necklaces, earrings, bracelets). But one category that is entirely new to her? Watches,” she captioned a pic of Swift’s look. “In my memory, the only time I can recall Taylor coming close to watches is when they were formatted into different settings like, say, a vintage watch face restrung onto a necklace pendant.”
As Chapelle mentioned, Swift donned a watch face set on a choker at the 2024 Grammys in February. The time on the clock was stuck at 12:00 a.m., referencing her album which took home multiple Grammys, Midnights. The custom jewelry was originally a Concord watch face that was strung on black diamonds by Lorraine Schwartz.
Swift teamed the choker with a Schiaparelli gown, which was later reinvited for her Tortured Poets Department “Fortnight” music video with Post Malone. On her Eras Tour, she also wore a similar version of her dress while singing hits from her TTPD album.
