Taylor Frankie Paul’s Exes Dakota, Chase Joke About Crashing Bachelorette

As Taylor Frankie Paul tries to find The One on The Bachelorette, her exes Chase McWhorter and Dakota Mortensen are making jokes about crashing her season.

Chase took to TikTok on Monday, November 17, to share a video of him and Dakota, 32, sharing a handshake. “Two thorns in pursuit of a rose?” he captioned the clip, which inspired strong reactions from The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives viewers.

Mayci Neeley weighed in on the comments section, writing, “Don’t even.” Chase, meanwhile, promised that he and Dakota have “changed” despite season 3 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives ending with Chase meeting up to flirt with Taylor, 31.

Before Taylor was announced as the lead for season 22 of The Bachelorette, Hulu viewers had a front row seat to her tumultuous love life on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. She originally made headlines in September 2024 when she was involved in a “soft swinging” sex scandal while still married to Tate Paul.

New Bachelorette Taylor Frankie Paul is as ready as she’ll ever be for her new journey. On the heels of the Wednesday, September 10, announcement that the 31-year-old Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star will star on season 22 of The Bachelorette, Us Weekly spoke to Taylor for an exclusive interview. “What I’m most looking […]

The controversy involved Taylor hooking up with Miranda Hope’s then-husband, Chase. Miranda and Chase have since called it quits — as have Taylor and Tate, who share daughter Indy, 7, and son Ocean, 4.

“I think we all have regrets,” Chase exclusively told Us Weekly in 2024. “I think we all regret what happened. … We probably should have not been there. But at the same time, why does this have to be a public thing? It seems like this was all happening behind closed doors, and now Taylor’s using it as a springboard to notoriety when she’s the one that actually just cheated.”

He continued: “I think we both realized that we’d gotten married a little prematurely, and that’s why our relationship still is pretty good 1763516957, like, we’re really cordial, really friendly. [I] still chat with her a lot, whenever she drops the kids off, and vice versa. … I think it’s working out really well, and we’re kind of figuring out how to continue navigating that in a positive way.”

Taylor then found love with Dakota, her first boyfriend after her divorce. After dating off-and-on — and welcoming son Ever in 2024 — Taylor and Dakota officially called it quits before she signed on to look for love on The Bachelor spinoff.

“I know a lot of people from a viewer point of view [don’t understand that] having everything aired out to the world is a lot different than just going to a person you care about or your family and telling them something,” Dakota previously explained on an episode of “The Viall Files” in June. “Like, you want to talk about fear, that’s the scariest feeling in the world.”

Dakota pointed out that The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives wasn’t easy on his romance with Taylor.

“Then doing it with a show, you don’t have any control over it. If they’re missing something, it’s like that’s not how it was. That to me was really hard to grasp,” he recalled. “That was hard to understand. I was like, ‘I don’t want to be torched to the world for it. I just want to have a moment with you where I can talk to you. I want a safe place to talk.’ But that’s not the case.”
