Sutton Stracke Addresses Criticizing Dorit Kemsley’s Plastic Surgery

Sutton Stracke is clearing the air about the remarks she made about Dorit Kemsley’s plastic surgery.

“When I said that I was playing a game on MTV,” Sutton, 53, exclusively told Us Weekly on Tuesday, December 10, while promoting The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 14. “So it was just supposed to be funny and stupid.”

Sutton added that “there’s no doubt” that Dorit, 48, is “gorgeous” and she didn’t mean to be hurtful.

In October, Sutton did a joint interview with The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Lisa Barlow for MTV UK. The Housewives teamed up to play a game where they had to guess the identity of a celebrity based on a series of clues. One of the celebrities ended up being Dorit — and Sutton decided to take a shot at her RHOBH costar.

Sutton held up a photo of Dorit so Lisa could give out some clues. Lisa responded that the mystery person “holds grudges” and “lives way above her means.” Sutton guessed Dorit and confessed that they still had unresolved issues at the time.

“I don’t think she ever let the mouse go,” she said. “The lady can’t get a hint.”

Barlow, for her part, decided to compliment Dorit and noted she is “pretty.”

“Well, when you’ve had enough surgery anybody can be pretty,” Sutton retorted.

After the remarks gained traction online, Dorit fired back with a heated dig at her expense.

“Why hasn’t Sutton done [plastic surgery] then?” she said during a November interview with Page Six. “She has the money, right? She can afford … plastic surgery, so why hasn’t she done it if it is that easy? I’m just curious.”

Dorit also cleared the air about her plastic surgery speculation. She swore the only treatment she’s done was breast augmentation.

“I stand here today … hand on my heart, promise you, I would happily, happily tell you if I did anything other than my boobs,” she told the outlet “And I have not.”

Fellow RHOBH star Kyle Richards also voiced her opinion on the women’s feud, saying it was “below the belt.”

“I do not like when anybody talks about people’s looks or their financial situations. It’s ugly,” Kyle said to Page Six in November. “Listen, I’ve had my arguments. We disagree on the show, but I don’t do ugly.”

Over the years, Sutton and Dorit have had their fair share of ups and downs in their friendships. While going into RHOBH season 14 with some slight tension, Sutton is hopeful that she and Dorit can resolve their differences.

“I think that Dorit and I always have a hard time apologizing [and] accepting apologies,” she told Us on Tuesday. “We just do that for some reason, and so it takes us a minute or a year or two.”
