Stars from the Harry Potter universe and beyond paid tribute to the late Maggie Smith on Friday, September 27, after news broke of the actress’ death at age 89. “Our dearly loved and revered head of Gryffindor house ❤️ you will be so missed by the Harry Potter community,” read a social media statement shared by Bonnie Wright, who portrayed Ginny Weasley in the movie franchise. A cause of death has not yet been announced for Smith, but in a bittersweet twist of fate, fans of the Wizarding World noticed that she died exactly one year after her costar Michael Gambon, who starred as the second Albus Dumbledore to her Minerva McGonagall.
