Southern Charm’s Rodrigo Reyes on Why Everyone’s ‘Scared’ of Craig

Rodrigo Reyes said he gets along with “everyone” on the Southern Charm cast — but he still raised his hand when asked who was “scared” of costar Craig Conover.
“Craig wants things his way,” Rodrigo, 40, exclusively told Us Weekly at the 36th Annual GLAAD Media Awards on Thursday, March 27, when asked why the cast was on edge around Craig, 36, when taping the season 10 reunion. “Listen, I get that. I can be the same way, and sometimes that that can come across as being domineering, I guess.”
Rodrigo, who joined the cast during season 9 in 2023, explained, “I genuinely get along with everyone. I just feel like sometimes it’s easy to take a step back [and] not take yourself so seriously.”
He noted that Craig’s seriousness is “probably” what made the cast hesitant to set him off.
During the season 10 reunion trailer, which was released in March, Austen Kroll confessed, “I am terrified of Craig. I feel like, I’m just going to get back handed for, like, stepping out of line.”
Host Andy Cohen then asked, “Anyone else scared of him?” At the time, Rodrigo, Austen, 37, Leva Bonaparte, Jarret “JT” Thomas and Venita Aspen all raised their hands.
“Craig is a very busy person. His business is growing, expanding, and he’s very driven in that sense,” Rodrigo told Us. “And I think that’s kind of, like, his ambition. Sometimes, maybe he can stop and reflect and be there for his friends.”
Throughout season 10, Craig butted heads with Austen over their friendship ups and downs. It wasn’t until Craig told Austen that he’s been battling with alcohol addiction and that’s why he didn’t want to party with Austen that the two started to gel again.
Craig’s stance on staying away from Austen because of his alleged partying ways wasn’t the only thing his costars seemed to take issue with. Rodrigo told Us that “Craig has a certain viewpoint on things,” including how strongly he felt about Shep Rose’s relationship with Sienna Evans.
“He basically made it very clear how he felt,” Rodrigo recalled, referring to Craig telling Shep, 42, to let go of Sienna, 26, claiming she was not the right fit for him. (Shep confirmed in November 2024 that he was single after his whirlwind romance with Sienna that spring.)
Rodrigo revealed that Craig’s recent split from Paige DeSorbo might be the push the Sewing Down South founder needs to find his footing with the cast both on and off camera.
“Now that Craig’s single, [I hope he] spends more time with his friends [and] we can get back to us just having a good time,” Rodrigo told Us. “That’s what I’m hopeful for, and I just want everyone to have a good time.”
Craig and Paige, 32, called it quits in November 2024 after three years of dating. During the season 10 finale of Southern Charm, fans witnessed Craig lean on Shep and Austen in the aftermath of his breakup — more so than he did all season.
Part 2 of the Southern Charm season 10 reunion airs on Bravo Thursday, April 3, at 8 p.m. ET.
Fans can also watch the 36th Annual GLAAD Media Awards on Hulu Sunday, April 12.
