Awards season always kicks off with the Golden Globes — and 2025 is no exception.

While the awards show is still considered “Hollywood’s Party of the Year,” things have changed a little over the past 25 years. The 2000s Golden Globes featured couples that have since split and dresses that are considered vintage.

As the Hollywood Foreign Press Association doled out trophies at the 57th Golden Globes on January 23, 2000, HBO celebrated the success of Sex and the City and The Sopranos, Denzel Washington and Hilary Swank landed big honors, and a still-fledgling Pixar proved its mettle.
