Savannah Guthrie Reunites With Hoda Kotb During Time Off From Today

Savannah Guthrie’s family vacation in Palm Beach, Florida turned into an unexpected Today reunion.

Guthrie, 53, snapped a selfie with Hoda Kotb after running into her former Today coanchor during her trip. “Oh and a bonus @hodakotb sighting for a little extra ☀️,” Guthrie captioned the Instagram pic, which also featured her husband, Michael Feldman, and a few of Kotb’s friends.

Fans freaked out over the reunion in the post’s comments, with one Instagram user writing, “Love your friendship! Everyone misses @hodakotb.” One fan called the women their “two favorite co-anchor[s]” of Today, while another commented, “Oh I know that was ONE EPIC HUG!!”

Guthrie’s selfie with Kotb, 60, is one of several vacation pics she shared via Instagram. “Turns out all they needed was more sunshine, more pink, more bingo, more pink, more warmth, more pink drinks, more time more together ☀️ 💕🌸,” she wrote alongside snaps of herself, Feldman, 56, and their kids — daughter Vale, 10, and son Charley, 8 — soaking up the sun at the pool and the beach.

Guthrie took some time off from Today for her vacation, as she was absent from the NBC morning show’s Monday, February 17, and Tuesday, February 18, episodes. She returned to her hosting duties on Wednesday, February 19.

Kotb, for her part, was also enjoying time in Florida with her daughters — Haley, 8, and Hope, 5 — after stepping down from Today last month. “Wait… whaaaattt— each of my girls caught a fish today!! #wow,” she captioned Instagram pics of herself fishing with her girls on Monday. “Threw em back— but what a thrill!”

While announcing her Today exit in September 2024, Kotb cited turning 60 and wanting to spend more time with her kids, whom she shares with ex-fiancé Joel Schiffman, as the main reason behind her decision.

“I was so sad for myself and for the show because — to me — she’s irreplaceable. I was happy for her as her friend,” Guthrie exclusively told Us Weekly of Kotb’s exit in October 2024. “I just think she’s being so creative and so bold and stepping out into this amazing new future that she doesn’t exactly know what it will look like. She believes in herself and she knows and she hears that call. I find that to be incredible.”

Kotb bid farewell to Today on January 10. “Savannah, oh, my God. You’re my person, my person,” Kotb tearfully gushed during her final episode. “You know who shows up for everybody? This girl. … She’s in the room, she’s always in the room, and I love you.”

Guthrie and Kotb’s Florida run-in was not the first time they have reunited since the latter left Today. The pair were two of many Today stars who supported Willie Geist at the first-ever Sunday Sitdown Live taping last month.

After the taping, Guthrie and Kotb stepped out to grab dinner with fellow NBC colleague Jenna Bush Hager. “Reunited – but never really apart ❤️,” Guthrie captioned a January 22 Instagram selfie of the trio. Since Kotb’s exit, Bush Hager, 43, has continued to cohost the fourth hour of Today, titled Today With Jenna & Friends, with a rotating lineup of celebrity guest hosts.
