Ryan Reynolds Gushes Over Taylor Swift’s New Orleans ‘Eras Tour’ Shows

Ryan Reynolds was nothing short of enchanted while attending his friend Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concerts in New Orleans.

The Deadpool & Wolverine star, 48, penned a sweet (and hilarious) tribute to the pop star, 34, while sharing photos from his Louisiana concert experience via Instagram on Thursday, October 31. “When I’m 95 yrs [sic] old and my wife [Blake Lively] and kids wheel me outside and into the sun so I can drink a sandwich, I’ll still be talking about seeing this show in New Orleans,” he joked.

Reynolds went on to call the two out of three New Orleans shows he attended “one of the best things I’ve seen/heard/felt” and praised the “staggering and positive economic impact this tour has on small businesses all over NOLA — a town that’s been thru so much for so long.”

He continued: “The main reason I’ll never forget this show is because it brings people together in so many ways. And in 2024, (where that feeling is scarce as hell) it’s a special and incredibly rare thing. I’ve shot movies in New Orleans most of my career. It’s a special place on a normal day — but this weekend, felt like Super Bowl or Mardi Gras had a baby with music.”

Spotted: Taylor Swift’s friendships with Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds growing stronger by the year. Lively first publicly revealed she is a fan of Swift in September 2015 after Lively was accused of throwing shade at the singer-songwriter. “…Sooo, turns out this WASN’T a video shoot for John Legend‘s cover of Bad Blood,” the actress […]

Reynolds said he doesn’t understand “the unimaginable work, care, talent and discipline [Taylor] generates to create an experience like this because I’m not a scientist,” adding, “It’s an athletic event and a collective cultural phenomenon. It’s gigantic but intimate. The only bummer is she can’t be in the audience to experience what everyone else sees and feels.”

The actor concluded his lengthy message on a heartfelt note, writing, “To watch herself up there is something I wish she could know. But that isn’t physically possible and even if it were, you can’t just get tickets last minute.”

Reynolds and Lively, 37, attended nights one and two of Swift’s New Orleans Eras Tour run earlier this month, during which Reynolds snapped selfies with his wife, musician Rufus Wainwright and Kim Hamilton, the mother of Swift’s backup dancer Kameron Saunders and New Orleans Saints player Khalen Saunders.

Not only have Reynolds and Lively been friends with Swift for years, but Reynolds worked alongside Kameron, 32, on the 2022 holiday movie musical Spirited.

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds love spending time with their friends and family when they’re not too busy with their own careers. Their friendship with Taylor Swift has made headlines over the years. After Lively met Swift in 2015, the actress and her husband celebrated the 4th of July at Swift’s infamous party in 2016. […]

“I happen to love, @kamnsaunders. Seeing him up close [in SPIRITED, the only musical I’ve ever attempted] was one of the best times I’ve had on set,” Reynolds captioned pics of himself and the dancer via his Instagram Story on Thursday. “Watching him murder the stage in The Eras Tour as a key player in the greatest show on earth makes my whole brain taste like joy. But nothing beats watching his mom watching him in New Orleans last weekend.”

Reynolds and Lively have attended several Eras Tour shows together — and with their kids — since Swift began her record-breaking tour in March 2023. The Grammy winner will continue to make stops across the U.S. and Canada before wrapping up the tour in Vancouver on December 8. (Reynolds and Lively, who wed in 2012, share daughters James, 9, Inez, 8, and Betty, 5, and son Olin, 20 months.)

Reynolds previously called The Eras Tour the “best concert on planet Earth” during a May appearance on Today With Hoda & Jenna. “I’m about to go to the Madrid show,” she shared at the time. “Very excited, my wife and kids have been to five of them, five or six now.”
