Rihanna and ASAP Rocky Coordinate at Footwear News Achievement Awards

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky are stylishly in step, quite literally.

They hit the red carpet at the Footwear News Achievement Awards (a.k.a. “the shoe Oscars,” an annual event that celebrates some of the most influential names in the game) on Wednesday, December 4.

The rapper and Puma received the Collaboration of the Year award. But the most stylish partnership of the night was the one that he has with his partner, Rihanna, both 36, who share two sons, RZA, 2, and Riot, 15 months. In his-and-hers leather, they remind Us all that they do date night dressing like no one else in Hollywood.

For her part, Rihanna wore a custom Alaïa gown that reimagined the white shirtdress. Classic tailoring was given cool new details, like a ruched, snatched waist and a sweeping train. Peeking out from underneath were Manolo Blahniks that she had custom designed just for the occasion. She looked stylish (and supportive!) without stealing the spotlight from A$AP Rocky.

While Rihanna and A$AP Rocky started as music collaborators, their connection blossomed into something more. A$AP confirmed in a May 2021 interview with GQ that he was dating Rihanna and called her “The One.” One month earlier, a source told Us Weekly that the pair were spotted “holding hands and laughing” during a night out […]

She also kept the focus on him while speaking to reporters. “He’s always influenced the fashion game,” she told E! News. “He’s always had a unique sense of style that designers have honed in on and actually used it for inspiration for collections.”

Rihanna continued: “He’s never gotten the amount of credit that he deserves. Being here tonight, it feels great to see him achieve something that we always knew he was a part of and influenced, and I’m proud to be here by his side.”

Typically, red carpet looks are provided entirely by a specific brand and, therefore, do not leave room for personal styling. But not in A$AP’s case — he mixed up his full Bottega Veneta ’fit with an oversize belt buckle that recalled iconic Y2K hip-hop fashion with a Gen Z twist.

His leather jacket’s collar was wrapped in Italian shearling, and as if that wasn’t luxe enough, all of the buttons and zips were decked out in a shiny silver finish. He grounded his black slacks with Bottega Veneta’s square-toe loafers and statement sunglasses for a casual-cool finish.

Meanwhile, Rihanna only had eyes for him. When he went on stage to accept his award, she could be seen snapping photos on her iPhone. A picture-perfect moment (and couple), indeed.
