Ric Flair Admits He Got ‘Bad Information’ About Hulk Hogan’s Death

Ric Flair admitted he got “bad information” when he alleged that “street drugs” were responsible for Hulk Hogan’s death.

“Okay Sky! I got bad information according to you,” Flair, 76, via X after Hulk’s widow, Sky Daily, refuted the claim in an interview with TMZ published on Monday, December 1, in which she claimed, “That didn’t happen at all.”.

“I should have never mentioned it. I have known hogan since 1979,” Flair continued. “Let’s just move past this and concentrate on his legacy. Period, end of story. Let’s preserve his legacy rather than dwell on any negative energy. I repeat- hulkamania forever!”

Hogan died of a heart attack at age 71 on July 24, 2025. Medical documents obtained by Us Weekly revealed the legendary wrestler had a history of leukemia CLL. A source told Us the month before his death that Hogan had undergone “pretty serious” heart surgery but that he was “doing well.”

Flair, a longtime friend of Hogan, made his assertion during a November appearance on the “Doubl3 Coverage” podcast.

‘I talked to him the day before he died,” Flair said at the time. “I shouldn’t say this, but what killed him was street drugs. When the doctor wouldn’t prescribe anymore, he was in so much pain, and he had that neck surgery that got infected.”

Flair continued, “So back in the hospital, imagine 10 back surgeries, two knees, two hips, all this and then when the doctor wouldn’t prescribe anymore pain medicine, he just couldn’t do it….So they went and got the drugs off the street.”

Daily, 47, also denied Flair’s claim that he spoke with Hogan the day before his death. She said he was under constant care of the Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, Florida, and that the only changes to his medication came after his neck procedure as a precaution to ensure his treatment did not affect his lungs.

TMZ cited two additional unnamed family sources who also refuted Flair’s claim.

An incredible athlete, talent, friend, and father! Our friendship has meant the world to me. He was always there for me even when I didn’t ask for him to be.”
