Panic! At the Disco Will Headline When We Were Young Festival
Panic! At the Disco is now opening the goddamn door.
Panic! will return to perform their debut album, A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out, in its entirety for its 20th anniversary. They are set to headline next year’s pop punk music festival, When We Were Young ,in 2025 alongside Blink-182.
“Ladies and gentlemen, we proudly present a picaresque score of passing fancy… Next year marks the 20th anniversary of A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out. On October 18th, 2025, Panic! returns home to Las Vegas for one special night at @whenwewereyoungfest to perform the album in its entirety (along with some of your other favorite Panic! At The Disco songs),” Panic! wrote via Instagram.
The caption ended with, “Get ready, because it’s time to dance and it’s only happening in Vegas!”
The comments under the band’s announcement were flooded with questions asking the band to clarify who “we” is, as it’s not been confirmed whether the band’s frontman, Brendon Urie, is included in the return.
Urie, 37, left the band in January 2023 to focus on raising his child with wife Sarah Urie.
“Well, it’s been a hell of a journey. Growing up in Vegas I could’ve never imagined where this life would take me. So many places all over the world, and all the friends we’ve made along the way. But sometimes a journey must end for a new one to begin,” Urie wrote in a statement on Instagram. “The prospect of being a father and getting to watch my wife become a mother is both humbling and exciting. I look forward to this next adventure,” Urie continued. “That said, I am going to bring this chapter of my life to an end and put my focus and energy on my family, and with that Panic! At the Disco will be no more.”
He continued, “I truly can’t put into words how much it has meant to us,” Urie wrote. “Whether you’ve been here since the beginning or are just finding us, it has been a pleasure to not only share the stage with so many talented people but also share our time with you.”
There’s also fan speculation surrounding the possible return of original member Ryan Ross — who left the band in 2009. Ross, 38, was instrumental to the success of the first record as he wrote the album’s lyrics and was the lead guitarist and back-up vocalist to Urie.
Additional acts confirmed to perform at When We Were Young include, PVRIS, Don Broco, Avril Lavigne,The Offspring, Weezer, All Time Low, The Used, Knocked Loose, Yellowcard, Motionless In White, Ice Nine Kills, Simple Plan and Alexisonfire.
When We Were Young will take place at Las Vegas Festival Grounds for its fourth year. Ticket presales begin on Friday, November 1, at 10 a.m. PST.
