Now That ‘The White Lotus’ Season 3 Is Over, Watch These 5 Great Shows

The White Lotus Season 3 has just ended, and it may be a while before another season filled with wealthy and problematic vacationers, put-upon hotel employees and mysterious dead bodies graces our small screens.
If you’re already missing the HBO show’s exotic locations, twisty plotlines and memorable characters, look no further. Watch these five shows to help you pass the time until The White Lotus returns sometime in the future.
‘From Scratch’ (2022)
If the exotic locations are what you love about The White Lotus, this Netflix limited series will hit the spot. The show stars Zoe Saldaña as Amy, an American art student who falls in love with a Sicilian chef named Lino (Eugenio Mastrandrea) while studying abroad in Florence.
The stunning Italian city is reminiscent of The White Lotus Season 2’s sun-baked Sicilian resort, which played host to all kinds of heartbreak and betrayal. From Scratch is much more warm-hearted and less cynical than The White Lotus, but the family drama is just as juicy and captivating, and the performances are equally skillful.

‘Succession’ (2018–2023)
The “wealthy people behaving badly” concept was perfected in Succession, which follows the competitive, spoiled and emotionally stunted children of ruthless media mogul Logan Roy (Brian Cox). After a cardiac event reminds everyone of Logan’s mortality, his children Kendall (Jeremy Strong), Roman (Kieran Culkin), Siobhan “Shiv” (Sarah Snook), and Connor (Alan Ruck) jockey with other executives from Waystar RoyCo to see who will ultimately become the CEO of the media conglomerate.
Also in the running are Shiv’s “yes-man” husband Tom (Matthew Macfadyen) and slippery cousin Greg (Nicholas Braun). In addition to Emmy-winning performances, Succession features witty dialogue that’s sure to delight fans of Mike White’s signature wicked humor.

‘Little Fires Everywhere’ (2020)
Based on the bestselling novel by Celeste Ng, Little Fires Everywhere follows two mothers — one rich and one poor — whose lives become intertwined in a small Ohio town. Kerry Washington plays Mia Warren, a free-spirited artist who is hiding a secret from her daughter Pearl (Lexi Underwood). Reese Witherspoon plays Elena Richardson, a mother of four who is unsatisfied with her “picture-perfect” life.
When Pearl becomes friends with Elena’s troublemaking daughter Izzy (Megan Stott), Mia accepts a job as the Richardsons’ housekeeper to keep an eye on her child. Meanwhile, Mia learns that her friend Bebe’s (Huang Lu) daughter is being adopted by friends of the Richardsons. Complicated arguments about the nature of motherhood and the influence of wealth and race on a family ensue. Fans of White Lotus will enjoy the shocking twists in this riveting family drama.

‘Downton Abbey’ (2010–2015)
If you loved the “upstairs/downstairs” dynamic of The White Lotus (especially in Season 1), then you should watch this elegant PBS series. Beginning in 1912 and through the 1920s, Downton Abbey takes place at a wealthy English estate in the countryside and follows the Crawley family. Downton earned 15 Primetime Emmys during its run and spawned two successful feature films, with a third now set for release later in 2025.
Fans of The White Lotus will enjoy the romantic dramas, the class dynamics and the life-or-death cliffhangers in this costume drama. Dan Stevens is charming as Matthew Crawley, the hardworking lawyer who becomes heir to the Crawley estate, and his relationship with Michelle Dockery’s Lady Mary (the eldest daughter of the Crawley family) will keep you glued to your screen.

‘Nine Perfect Strangers’ (2021–Present)
It’s Big Little Lies meets The White Lotus in this series based on Liane Moriarty’s novel. (The former was also based on one of Moriarty’s novels.) Nine Perfect Strangers, which takes place at a high-end wellness resort in California, was initially conceived as a limited series when it premiered in 2021, but it’s now being revived as an anthology with a new season in May 2025.
Season 1 stars Nicole Kidman as a mysterious and enigmatic guru who guides the titular strangers through a “spiritual journey” as they attempt to improve their lives. Melissa McCarthy, Michael Shannon, Luke Evans and Samara Weaving play some of the guests — each with their own baggage — at a retreat that soon reveals its unorthodox, and possibly sinister, methods.
Murray Bartlett, who played Armond in the first season of The White Lotus, will headline the new season alongside Annie Murphy of Schitt’s Creek fame.
