North West Debuts Faux Septum Piercing, Face Tattoos and Black Grill

North West is experimenting with a grunge look.

North, 12, who is the eldest daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, debuted a bold new look via TikTok on Monday, October 20. In the snap, she wore her brunette hair in four braids with blue highlights twisted through her strands. She also showed off a series of faux face tattoos, including a star under her eye and her name written in cursive on her other cheek. She teamed the look with bright blue contacts, a black grill, long lashes and a faux septum piercing.

North styled her look with a baggy black T-shirt and layered silver chains, pearls and cross necklaces around her collar. She completed her look with a hena tattoo on her hand and pink glittery jewelry.

She posed alongside two friends who matched her in different colors.

“🩷🩵💚,” she captioned the post. “#northforever.”

In another snap, North confirmed that her look was temporary while posing alongside her friends. “Fake piercings and fake tatts 4 life,” she wrote in the caption.

Social media users were quick to share their opinions via X on Tuesday, October 21. “She’s TWELVE??” one wrote, while another commented that it was a “shocking new look.”

More defended North’s moment, writing, “It’s really not that serious, hence the word ‘fake.’” Another commented, “None of you tried fake tattoos as kids??”

North’s temporary tattoos and piercings come after fans wondered if she got a finger piercing in August.

While taking a trip to Rome, North was spotted with a dermal piercing on her right middle finger.

According to Byrdie, a dermal piercing lies flat against the skin and does not have a separate entry or exit point. Finger piercings are highly susceptible to infection because of the level of contact and movement on the hand.

Social media users criticized Kardashian, 45, for letting North get the piercing.

One user wrote, “That makes me wince just looking at it😣🤢 It must be so irritating! And in the perfect place to be infected all the time,” while another added, “That’s going to be impossible to heal…”

North has previously experimented with faux piercings. In 2022, she rocked a nose ring during Paris Fashion Week while matching with her mom at the Jean Paul Gaultier show.

For the event, North wore a white dress shirt underneath a pinstriped vest and a matching skirt. She accessorized her fit with a black tie and oval sunglasses, as well as a chain necklace. Her nose ring was connected to a chain that tucked behind her ear.

North wore her brunette hair in neat twists and posed alongside Kardashian. The pair spotted a mother-daughter matching look.

The reality star rocked a black-and-white look with a nude bra top that cascaded into a pinstriped floor-length skirt. She made the ensemble even cooler with a thick silver cuff bracelet and coordinating choker.

Kardashian styled the outfit with black shades and the same faux nose ring that North wore.

For glam, she wore bronzey eyeshadow, long lashes, nude-lined lips and filled-in eyebrows. She completed her vibe with her hair, which was dyed platinum blonde at the time, styled in loose curls.
