Nia Jax Says There Are People She’d Kick Out of WWE Locker Room
WWE superstar Nia Jax admitted things aren’t always hunky dory with every member of the women’s locker room.
In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly, the reigning WWE Queen of the Ring, 40, hesitated when asked if all the wrestlers on the roster got along backstage.
“Is this the politically right answer?” Jax asked Us with a smile. “Should I tell you the real tea?”
After a moment of hesitation, Jax hinted at some tense relationships with a handful of other wrestlers on the roster.
“There might be a couple that we’re like, ‘Yo, sit outside. We don’t really want you in here,’” Jax revealed. “I’m not gonna say any names. We’ll keep it quiet.”
Despite a bad egg or two, Jax said things are usually quite pleasant amongst herself and her fellow superstars.
“For the most part in our women’s locker room, we all get along,” she explained. “We’re willing to help each other out … If one of us is like, ‘Hey, I’m about to do a promo, a match and a brawl, I need food,’ the girls are like, ‘Hey, whatever you need.’ We do really support each other.”
Due to the hectic schedule of life in WWE — where wrestlers are sometimes on the road 300 days of the year — Jax said members of the locker room become more than friends.
“There’s times where we are each other’s family,” she explained. “At the end of the time, I’m with them 90 percent of the time. We have to turn to each other and really have a bond.”
She added, “If I could ever expose some of the behind-the-scenes stuff, it would be the best reality show ever.”
Jax will go one-on-one with WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley at Saturday Night’s Main Event on Saturday, January 25, which is a match that Jax promoted as a feast for all the senses.
“I’m not gonna be shy, we’re beautiful women,” Jax said of her and Ripley, 28. “We’re bold, beautiful women, and we are also athletes. So going out there and showing, ‘Yeah, the guys are doing an amazing job, but we’re doing just as good.’ We’re bringing a whole different kind of audience.”
She added, “Young women see us out there and they’re like, ‘Holy crap, I could do something like that.’ Every time we’ve been given this opportunity, we’ve been killing it.”
Watch Jax and Ripley battle when WWE’s Saturday Night’s Main Event airs live on NBC Saturday, January 25, at 8 p.m. ET.
