Minnie Driver Asks If Celebs Are Getting ‘New Faces’ for the Holidays
Minnie Driver has some questions about the latest plastic surgery trends.
“Guys, are we all getting new faces for Christmas?” the British actress, 54, asked in a recent Instagram video. “‘Cause where you getting them from? And do you think they’re gonna run out? And does anyone got a discount code?”
Driver, looking casual-chic in a blue T-shirt, white pants and cat-eye glasses, was poking fun at trendy aesthetic procedures that make people look like walking Instagram filters.
“Quite hard to put under the tree,” she captioned her post, adding the cheeky hashtags #newface, #faceshop and #discountcodes.
Driver’s friends and fans flooded the comments section, adding their own jokes.
“I’m just drawing mine on with a marker pen,” one fan wrote, to which the Good Will Hunting star replied, “This is an excellent and budget idea.”
Another reassured, “You look amazing! No new face needed!,” while someone else advised, “Go ask Demi Moore. Her surgeon is perfection.”
Meanwhile, Debra Messing dropped a “Hahaha!!!” and model Karen Elson responded with: “Asking for a friend…😂.”
Driver has been candid lately about the aging process. Last month, she posted a pair of makeup-free selfies to her Instagram account.
“Ok, I’m pretty vain, so posting [a] picture without a scrap of makeup and un-touched up, are rare,” she wrote in the caption. “The only reason I’m doing it now is because I’ve been ill, I have felt every one of my years recently.”
At the time, Driver credited friend and London-based aesthetician Karen Bartov for helping her share a more authentic depiction of herself.
“I’m pretty astonished that my friend Keren can make me look like this,” she continued. “Christmas glow without the 5 mulled wines. Love you Keren and thank you.”
Driver revealed in early November that she was battling the flu and credited partner Addison O’Dea with helping her get through it. She showed her appreciation in an Instagram post celebrating the couple’s six-year anniversary, writing, “All day long he’s been sticking thermometers in my ear and setting timers for medication and sticking his head round the door and writing me cards and making me food I can’t eat.”
O’Dea’s caretaking worked. Earlier this month, Driver was recovered and ready to attend The Red Sea International Film Festival in Saudi Arabia, where she was a jury member alongside Spike Lee and Daniel Dae Kim. She posted snapshots of her glamorous festival outfits via Instagram.
“I always love the pictures we take at home about a million times more than the red carpet ones,” she revealed on December 11, adding, “on my way to the Women in Cinema dinner at @redseafilm where I’m thrilled to be on the jury this year.”
