Millie Bobby Brown Reveals She Changed Her Name After Getting Married

Millie Bobby Brown has made a subtle change to her name after marrying Jake Bongiovi and becoming a mom.

While promoting season 5 of Stranger Things earlier this week, Brown, 21, and her costars were quizzed about one another in a YouTube video for VT.

“Noah [Schnapp], what is Millie’s full name?” the interviewer asked Schnapp, 21, in the Monday, November 24, video.

Schnapp, Brown’s longtime BFF and godparent to her daughter, proclaimed that the actress is called Millie Bonnie Brown.

Brown, however, pointed out that her name has since changed.

“Millie Bonnie Bobby Brown Bongiovi,” Schnapp guessed, to which his friend hinted to just to “drop the Brown.”

“Drop the Bobby [and] drop the Brown. It’s just Millie Bonnie Bongiovi,” she explained. “That’s it.”

Brown married Bongiovi, 23, in 2024, and they welcomed their first child via adoption the next year.

“It’s been a beautiful, amazing journey — she’s taught us so much already,” she told British Vogue in a profile published earlier this month. “Perspective is a huge thing. The smaller things in life are so much more precious. Our days are filled with lots of cuddles and laughter and love. It’s just endless joy.”

According to Brown, she and Bongiovi are “50-50” on all parenting duties.

“That’s why I’m so grateful to have partnered with him in this life,” she gushed. “He is just the most amazing dad.”

Neither Brown nor Bongiovi have revealed their daughter’s name or shared a photo of her face — and they don’t plan on that changing anytime soon.

“For me, it’s really important to protect her and her story until she’s old enough to potentially one day share it herself,” she told British Vogue. “It’s not my place to purposefully put her in the spotlight unwillingly.”

Brown continued, “If she chooses to share her personality one day with the world, like I did when I was young, that’s something we’d support. But right now, as she’s so little. … As her parents, it’s our job to protect her from that.”

Brown and Jon Bon Jovi’s son live with their newborn on a farm in Georgia.

“I grew up here, you know?” Brown told Vogue of Atlanta, which is where she filmed Stranger Things. “This is the longest place I’ve been consecutively in my life because of Stranger Things. For me, this is my home.”

She previously shut down speculation that she’s embraced farm life solely “for the aesthetic.”

“I’m doing it because I love it,” Brown told Vanity Fair in February. “There are maybe some [people] out there doing it because it seems wholesome, but it is not. If you’re not picking up horse s*** or washing a cow with your bare hands, then that life is not made for you. At all.”

According to Brown, she and Bongiovi were long on the same page about their plans for the future.

“We were pretty united going into it,” Brown explained at the time of her relationship. “We talked about our political views, what kind of family we want to build, the kind of home we want to live in, the kind of relationship we’re looking for, the kind of careers we want. It’s such an important decision, and we wanted to make sure we were making the right one. I knew I was. It always felt right with him.”
