Microwave Rice

The microwave is for more than just popping popcorn or heating leftovers. It can also make an excellent bowl of rice.

I cook my rice in a microwave, not because I think the microwave makes for the absolute best rice, but I think it is one of the most convenient ways to get consistently well-cooked rice every time. Rinse your rice. I do this a couple of times. And then to a microwave safe bowl, you’re going to add your rinsed rice, 1 cup of it, plus 2 cups of water. And then stick it in the microwave for anywhere from 15 to 25 minutes. For me, I have a 700-watt microwave. It takes me about 22 and 1/2 minutes. And once more about your microwave and learn more, you will come up with your exact timing. Timer is off. We’re just going to let it sit for 5 minutes now. After it has rested, take it out, fluff it up, and you’re good to go.
