Meghan Markle’s Friend Lindsay Roth Leaves Message for Her in Book

Meghan Markle’s friendship with college pal Lindsay Roth has been immortalized in Roth’s latest self-help book.

Within the pages of “Romances & Practicalities: A Love Story (Maybe Yours!) in 250 Questions,” released by Roth on Tuesday, January 28, Markle, 43, is directly discussed.

“Meghan Sussex, Meg, to be sisters by choice, still thinking the same thing at the same time after all these years — no matter how many miles between us — is my favourite part of our unbreakable bond,” the acknowledgments section reads, per People. “There for each other always, sharing a deep loyalty and understanding — I could tell you anything, and it would be okay. I carry your heart (I carry it in my heart).”

Roth’s heartfelt book inclusion was a surprise to Markle, according to the outlet, with Roth only revealing the passage to her on Tuesday. “I have saved that as a little token for her to see when the book comes out,” Roth told People in an article published on Tuesday. “I think it’s rare to find friends who love you unconditionally, and I’ve been lucky in my life to have a few who I truly consider family. It’s almost like those words aren’t enough.”

Princess Kate and Meghan Markle’s complex relationship started off on the right foot, with the two aligning themselves together in a fast friendship after meeting in January 2017. However, rumors of a growing rift between the two soon begun to plague the royal family. Before she tied the knot with Prince Harry in May 2018, […]

According to GoodReads.com, the book features a set of “research-backed” questions spanning money, children, chores, sex and beyond, to help readers identify “wants, needs, and non-negotiables” to help navigate stronger relationships.

Roth has proven a loyal friend to Markle since the pair met as students at Northwestern University and graduated together in 2003. Roth, an author and TV producer who once worked on Larry King Now, appeared in Markle and Prince Harry’s 2022 Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan.

Markle also served as Roth’s maid of honor when she married Gavin Jordan in 2016.

In a March 2021 Instagram post that Roth shared after Markle and Harry, 40, were subjected to backlash for their tell-all CBS interview, Roth gushed about her pal. “Meg’s M.O. has always been kindness; goodwill runs in her bones. I know this to be true after 22 years of very close friendship. I have seen firsthand how she treats her friends and their families, and her colleagues,” Roth began.

Roth accompanied ⁣her post with two photos of the pair — one that captured Markle applying lip gloss to Roth on her wedding day, and another that showed Markle sporting a graduation cap as she posed alongside her smiling friend.

“If she’s driving with you in the passenger seat, she will fling her right arm in front of you at the slightest bump in a gesture of love to ensure your safety,” Roth’s post continued. “If you have a specific goal, she will help you get there, and your passions will become hers on your behalf. If you ever have the pleasure of meeting Meg – and I hope more of you do – you will see the altruistic, magnanimous friend who I am so lucky to have in my corner.”

Just like Prince Harry, who married Markle in May 2018 and now shares two children, son, Archie, 5, and daughter, Lilibet, 3, with her, Jordan is also an Englishman and he and Roth share two children together.
