Meghan Markle Helps Teen Find Billie Eilish Shirt Destroyed in Fire
An excited Meghan Markle is sharing the story of how she tracked down Billie Eilish to help make a teen’s wish come true.
In a video she shared on Instagram on Tuesday, February 4, Markle, 43, talked about meeting a mom and a daughter while visiting the devastation left behind by the wildfires in Altadena, California.
“We went to the community where all the homes were left in ashes. This mom had found a couple things and as I was talking to her I turned and looked and I saw this young woman and I said, ‘Oh my gosh, how old are you?’”
“She’s 15,” Markle said. “She lives there.”
That’s when Markle learned that the teen had lost one of her most priced possessions, a Billie Eilish concert T-shirt which she left in the wash while fleeing from their home.
It was the only thing she wanted to find.
“I said, ‘Well, I don’t know Billie Eilish but I’m going to figure out how to get you this shirt,’” Markle continued. Markle said she then sent a voice note around explaining what she was trying to do and the voice note fell into the right hands.
As she continued, Markle connected with lead singer of Maroon 5, Adam Levine, and his wife, Behati Prinsloo, who “helped get this over the line.”
As a result, Eilish came through, sending so much more than just the concert T-shirt. Markle shared footage of the care package, which included multiple clothing items, a lunch box, and a signed vinyl.
“A huge thank you, Billie Eilish. This is going to mean so much to her,” Markle gushed. “To everyone who is showing up for people in big and small ways, to get through what’s happened in California, just thank you so much.”
“I’m going to email her mom now,” Markle excitedly exclaimed.
