Love Is Blind’s Hannah Addresses Backlash Over How She Speaks to Nick

Love Is Blind star Hannah Jiles is aware of how she comes across when talking to fiancé Nick Dorka — and she’s a work in progress.

“I’ve learned a lot, I’ve learned there’s things I need to work on,” Hannah, 26, said during the Tuesday, October 15, episode of “The Viall Files” podcast. “For example, I am a very direct person. I know that but I think my delivery is rough — and delivery is everything.”

Fans were introduced to Hannah on season 7 of the Netflix dating show. She connected with Nick, 29, and Leo Braudy in the pods. Hannah ultimately chose Nick and the couple got engaged before jetting off to Mexico together. Once they made it back to Washington D.C., however, Hannah shared a list of red flags and made comments about Nick’s living arrangement and cleanliness habits.

Many viewers questioned the duo’s compatibility as Hannah came off as mean when speaking to Nick. Hannah insisted that while filming the series, she was reflecting on how she used her words but her eyes opened fully when she watched the episodes back for herself.

As fans watch the latest episodes of Love Is Blind season 7, they’ve been trying to work out whether Hannah Jiles and Nick Dorka are meant to be — or a complete mismatch. Hannah, 26, and Nick, 29, got engaged inside the Washington, D.C. pods in fall 2023, which started airing on Netflix earlier this […]

“When you can see it you’re like, ‘Gosh that was really harsh.’ So I’ve learned to be kinder [and] work on my delivery,” she admitted. “Sometimes just because it’s the truth and it’s what you’re feeling doesn’t mean that you have to say it out loud. Maybe think about it, think about the delivery, be a little softer.”

Hannah shared that the whole process helped her see what qualities she likes — and doesn’t like — when it comes to a partner. In her past relationships, the reality star hasn’t dealt with people calling her out for her words but she wishes they would have.

“I wish people called me out on my s— more,” she teased. “[With] past partners … it’s definitely a problem. I’m a little bit of a control freak. I like the things I like. So I think in relationships sometimes they just let me do what I do and they don’t really say anything. So it’s definitely a problem with me wanting what I want.”

She also acknowledged that conversations get even more difficult when marriage is on the table.

There’s always a line in the Love Is Blind pods when it comes to discussing physical appearance, but Hannah Jiles doesn’t think she crossed it while discussing her weight loss journey on season 7. “It’s just a part of my journey and when I’m talking about weight loss, it’s my biggest insecurity, so it’s something […]

“I also don’t think I’ve ever discussed such serious questions where it’s so direct and you have to talk about such serious things before so it’s a little bit unique,” she recalled. “I’ve never been engaged or married so these questions I’m asking aren’t typical things that I would be asking [in] relationships unless we’ve been together for a long time.”

Hannah added that she’s “got a lot of room to grow, I’m trying, I promise.”

Love Is Blind season 7 is currently streaming on Netflix. New episodes drop Wednesdays. The reunion airs Wednesday, October 30, at 9 p.m. ET.
