Liam Payne’s Early Autopsy Shows Internal, External Hemorrhages

Liam Payne’s preliminary autopsy report reveals that he died from multiple injuries involving “internal and external hemorrhage,” Us Weekly can confirm.

The former One Direction singer suffered “multiple traumas,” which contributed to his death, according to the report obtained by Us on Thursday, October 17. (Payne died on Wednesday, October 16, at the age of 31.)

The Forensic Medical Corps doctors documented 25 injuries, including “cranioencephalic injuries were severe enough to cause death.” The officials added that Payne’s hemorrhages in his skull, chest, abdomen and limbs “contributed to the mechanism of death.”

The doctors noted that “additional tests” have been requested to confirm their findings. A toxicology report as well as a histopathological and biochemical test have been requested as well.

“Our role was to head there quickly, give medical attention, and try to resuscitate him, but his injuries were incompatible with life,” Buenos Aires emergency services chief Alberto Crescenti said in a statement on Wednesday, according to La Nacion. “Based on what the team saw, there was apparently a cranial fracture and extremely serious injuries that led to his immediate death.”

Payne’s death is currently under investigation after the City Police’s Mobile Criminalistics Unit found substances inside the late singer’s room.

“At first glance — and pending confirmation from testing — [they] appeared to be narcotics and alcoholic beverages, as well as various broken objects and furniture,” according to a report obtained by Us on Thursday.

The National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office No. 14 is focused on “reconstructing the circumstances” of Payne’s death and attempting to determine “the possible involvement of third parties in the events leading up to the victim’s death.”
