Kylie Kelce Would Be ‘Skeptical’ of Daughters Dating Football Stars

While dating a professional football player worked out well for Kylie Kelce, she has hesitations about her daughters following her lead when they grow up.
“I’d be very skeptical,” Kylie, 32, told husband Jason Kelce on the Friday, February 14, episode of her “Not Gonna Lie” podcast when asked whether she would allow the girls to date fellow athletes.
Jason, 37, and Kylie famously matched on the dating app Tinder during one of his early years as a center for the Philadelphia Eagles. Kylie initially had no idea he played for the NFL team before they met in person. Once it became clear that they had a connection, she was still wary to tell her family due to stereotypes about dating an athlete.
Jason and Kylie ultimately beat the odds, tying the knot in 2018 before welcoming daughters Wyatt, 5, Ellie, 3, and Bennett, 23 months. They are currently expecting baby No. 4, another girl.
When it comes to letting their kids date, Jason can see Kylie’s perspective.
“I know a lot of great football players, [but] I also know a lot of football players that I would not want to date my daughters, for sure,” Jason said on the podcast. “Hopefully, both of us can show our daughters what good men and women are, so that they can be able to decipher these things. That’s all we can do.”
He added, “Nothing is gonna help if we’re being skeptical. If they fall in love with a douchebag, nothing about us being skeptical is gonna help.”
That being said, Jason does want all of his girls to end up with partners who have certain characteristics.
“Red flag for me is anyone that uses the term ‘red flag,’ just gonna start it off right there,” he quipped on Friday’s episode. “[And also] anybody who doesn’t treat service people with respect and kindness, anyone that’s narcissistic. … I think you can gauge how people are by how they treat people when they have nothing to gain from it. That’s a big one for me.”
Since retiring from the Eagles last year, Jason has become even more proud to be a girl dad — and his relatives have seen him melt around his daughters.
“He loves all the girls,” Jason’s mom, Donna Kelce, exclusively told Us Weekly in November 2023. “He loves the cuddling, he loves how sweet they are, the little comments that they make, how much they love their animals and their dolls.”
Donna went on to reveal the parenting advice that she doled out to Jason when he first became a father.
“Let your children choose what they love to do. Don’t try to steer them into something. Give them an opportunity to get involved in as much as you possibly can and let them decide,” Donna, who also shares son Travis Kelce with ex Ed Kelce, explained at the time. “They will be good at whatever they love to do. It’s just the way it is. If they love to do something, they will do it over and over and over again. … Whether it’s art or sports or music or whatever they love to do, try to let them do it and try to get them help with it and support them.”
