Kylie Jenner Releases 1st-Ever Song ‘Fourth Strike’ as King Kylie
Kylie Jenner is officially in her music era.
The Kylie Cosmetics founder, 28, dropped her musical debut, a song called “Fourth Strike” in collaboration with pop duo Terror Jr, at midnight on Tuesday, October 14.
Jenner is credited as King Kylie, the alter ego she first introduced to the world over a decade ago, and is featured on a verse near the end of the song.
“One strike, two strike, let me get the mood right / I just wanna tell you I’m sorry,” Jenner sing-speaks over mid-tempo R&B beats. “Touch me baby, tell me I’m your baby / Write your name all over my body.”
The Kardashians star concludes her verse in a breathy whisper, saying, “King Kylie.”
Jenner previously collaborated with Terror Jr — David “Campa” Benjamin Singer-Vine and singer Lisa Vitale — in 2016 when their song “Three Strikes” was featured in a Kylie Cosmetics lip gloss commercial.
At the time, fans speculated whether Jenner was secretly the group’s lead singer, as the band’s identities were anonymous until the release of their debut EP, Bop City, in October 2016. In November of that year, however, Jenner confirmed via Snapchat that she was not part of the band.
“AHHHHHH!!!!!! FOURTH STRIKE!!! terror jr ft KING KYLIE!!!!! OUT NOW EVERYWHERE! what is happening!!!” Jenner shared in an Instagram post announcing the release of “Fourth Strike.”
She continued, “There was a little rumor 10 years ago that I was the one actually singing on 3 strikes! It wasn’t me (wish it was) so I had the idea to come together for fourth strike and it would actually be ME FEATURED! @terror.jr thank you for making another perfect song and for trusting me to actually ft on this! I was soooooo nervous but so grateful.”
Alongside the caption, Jenner posted snippets of her recording her verse in the studio, as well as playing the song for her friends and her kids. In a sweet video, the star’s two children — daughter Stormi, 7, and son Aire, 3 — are seen in a car with their mom as the song plays in the background. (Jenner shares her two children with rapper Travis Scott.)
On Monday, October 13, Jenner teased her musical debut when she released a commercial for her new King Kylie cosmetics collection featuring “Fourth Strike” in the background. The video serves as a sequel to the 2016 lip gloss commercial she released in collaboration with Terror Jr.
Jenner announced the King Kylie collection, featuring “fan favorites and new products,” according to Kylie Cosmetics, in an Instagram post on Sunday, October 12.
“This King Kylie Collection is truly for you!!! 💋 You’re the reason my biggest cosmetic dreams came true, and I wouldn’t be here.. 10 years later! without your support,” she wrote.
“I’ve seen all your messages asking for a King Kylie collection, the fearless era that had a dream at just 17 years old! .. and that’s why I posted that tweet back in 2022. I wanted to give you exactly what you’ve been waiting for,” she continued.
Jenner concluded her post, “From the bottom of my heart, thank you for being on this journey with me. I hope this collection makes you as happy as you’ve made me.”
