Kyle Richards Spills on RHOBH Season 15, Dating Life and Dorit (Excl)

Kyle Richards almost said goodbye to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for good.

“I came home one day and it was very quiet in the house. I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, if I do leave the show — even though I’m doing my other projects — it’s going to be such a big change in my life,’” Kyle exclusively told Us Weekly ahead of the Thursday, December 4, season 15 premiere, adding that she “had a hard time” deciding if she wanted to live her life in front of the reality TV cameras for another year.

“Obviously, the cast members, but the crew become a big part of your life too,” she added. “This takes up a huge portion of my life. Every year, the majority is filled with Housewives stuff.”

After the “very jarring” experience of both estranged husband Mauricio Umansky and daughter Alexia Umansky moving out, Kyle made her decision. She told Us that in her mind, leaving the show would feel like “another weird loss” in her life.

“I didn’t think that would be good for me mentally. So I thought, maybe I’ll just hang in there another year and see how I do,” she added. “I’m getting stronger now.”

Kyle Richards is hopeful that she and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills costar Dorit Kemsley can repair their friendship. “I think that if you’ve ever cared about somebody that much, I think there’s always room for repair, assuming they haven’t done something horrendous to each other,” Kyle, 55, exclusively told Us Weekly while promoting RHOBH […]

Season 14 saw Kyle at odds with longtime friend Dorit Kemsley as she navigated the ups and downs of her separation from Mauricio. The couple called it quits in July 2023 after 27 years of marriage, though they have yet to file for divorce.

It seems Bravo viewers will get to see a different side of the OG Housewife this time around and, don’t worry, she has no plans to jump ship just yet.

“Obviously, there will come a time,” Kyle told Us. “I don’t know when that time will be.”

Keep scrolling for everything Kyle teased about RHOBH season 15 during her interview with Us:

The New Cast Members

Rachel Zoe and Amanda Frances will be joining the RHOBH fold for season 15.

Rachel’s history with Bravo — she “already knows everybody,” Kyle said — made her a perfect addition to the cast. Amanda, meanwhile, appears to prove that she’s the real deal as the season progresses.

“I think that she really pushed some buttons,” Kyle teased to Us. “She’s very — and I know this sounds like such a Housewives cliche — [but] she’s very opinionated.”

Amanda “does not really care what anybody else thinks,” Kyle said. “She, kind of, came in like, ‘I belong here.’”

Ongoing Issues With Dorit

When the RHOBH season 15 trailer dropped last month, fans saw that Kyle and Dorit were at odds once again. Kyle told Us that Dorit is “not open-minded” when it comes to listening, which is at the root of their issues.

“When she has something in her head, that’s it,” Kyle continued. “It’s really frustrating to try to have a conversation with her.”

Jamie McCarthy/Getty Images for Elton John AIDS Foundation Dorit Kemsley and Kyle Richards have been joined at the hip throughout The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills — but their friendship has taken quite the turn. Season 13 followed the cracks in their relationship, with Dorit expressing concerns that Kyle was prioritizing other friends over her. […]

She said the tension between them has “been hard,” especially since Erika Jayne gets involved during the season as well.

“It was like two steps forward, three steps back,” Kyle said. “I would love to say we’re in a better place now, but it got worse, and things came to blows in Italy.”

Are Kyle and PK Still Friends?

Part of the RHOBH season 14 drama stemmed from Kyle’s friendship with Dorit’s estranged husband, PK Kemsley. Kyle confirmed to Us that she has stopped talking to PK.

RHOBH season 15 is set to feature a sitdown between Dorit and Kyle’s ex, Maurico. When asked why it appeared OK for Dorit to have a relationship with Mauricio but not for Kyle to have a friendship with PK, Kyle was just as perplexed as Us.

“That’s a good question to ask her,” Kyle said. “I was totally fine with them doing that, by the way. Just like I know she was fine with [PK sending me] memes.”

Kyle told Us she “encouraged” Dorit and Mauricio to have a sitdown.

“I genuinely felt like Mau could maybe help bridge the gap with [Dorit and PK],” she explained. “What they’re going through, they cannot see eye to eye. It’s, unfortunately, not been real friendly.”

Thoughts on Her Love Life

Kyle hasn’t been on any dates and there no dating apps in her future — despite what she said about moving on during the RHOBH season 14 reunion.

“I really wish I didn’t say that, because that really bit me in the ass,” she said. “It seems like everybody meets someone on dating apps. You will never see me on a dating app.”

Kyle called herself more “old school” when it comes to dating.

“I think I was afraid to be by myself, and now I’m not afraid of that,” she said. “Whatever will be, will be.”

Some Major Life Updates in Season 15

Will Kyle and Mauricio ever actually get divorced? This question has been swirling since their separation, and there might be an answer on the horizon.

She told Us that there is an “impromptu conversation” about the possibility of divorce between Kyle and Mauricio during RHOBH season 15. “I guess you’re gonna have to wait and see what happens with that,” Kyle teased.

And, yes, she’s still on her sobriety journey.

“I still have not had any alcohol now three years and five months,” Kyle said, confirming that she does indulge in some “nonalcoholic champagne” in Thursday’s season 15 premiere. “I was drinking French Bloom, non alcoholic champagne.”

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills premieres Thursday, Dec. 4 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo. Episodes will be available to stream the next day on Peacock.
