Kim Kardashian’s Daughter North Says People Always Hate Her Met Gala Outfits
Kim Kardashian‘s 12-year-old daughter, North, kept the reality star humble while getting ready for the Met Gala.
During the Thursday, November 27, episode of The Kardashians, Kim, 45, revealed she almost didn’t attend the 2025 fundraiser due to fitting issues with her black leather Chrome Hearts dress. Kim credited North for keeping her motivated about fashion’s biggest night.
“Last night, North came into my room and she gave me the cutest little balloon that says ‘Good Luck’ and some flowers,’” she said.
Footage from the sweet moment showed Kim telling her daughter that she made her day. Kim subsequently told North that she was nervous that her look wouldn’t be well-received. “What’s the worst that could happen? People hate on your outfit?” North asked. “They do that every year.”
After the pep talk, Kim was more determined to attend the Met Gala no matter what.
“North knows that I’m really discouraged. She can feel that I’m so defeated,” she shared about how North became her “motivating factor” ahead of the event. “Just the fact that she wanted to cheer me up and encourage me to go is just so sweet. I’m so moved that she doesn’t want me to give up and she doesn’t want me to quit. I don’t want to let her down. I want to represent her.”
Kim shares North, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 6, with ex-husband Kanye West. The former couple tied the knot in 2014 and were married for seven years before Kim filed for divorce in February 2021. The proceedings were finalized in November 2022.
Earlier this season, Kim addressed the misconceptions about her coparenting relationship with Kanye, 48.
“I feel more stressed probably just because I have to protect my kids. Everyone around can handle [the drama], but I want to protect my babies. They are going to know things. They’re going to grow up and see,” she noted. “So, my job as a mom is to just make sure that at a time when that behavior is happening, is just to make sure that they are protected.”
Kim acknowledged that her children are getting to an age where they can see their father’s controversial behavior online and possible negative comments toward her.
“One of my kids knew what was happening. I’ve been able to hide it for so long,” she shared while comparing her current relationship with Kanye to “Stockholm syndrome.”
Kim continued: “I always felt really bad and always wanted to help. This was the first time I didn’t feel that responsibility personally. [People think] I should have stuck it out and I could have helped. As much as people think that I have the luxury of walking away and not dealing ever again, that’s not my reality. This person — we have four kids together.”
In Thursday’s episode, Scott Disick was filmed asking Kim about how “loud” Kanye had gotten online.
“I just can’t really engage. It’s just for the better. By the way, [he] never once called. I always encourage a relationship — a healthy one. This is not healthy,” she noted. “It’s just frustrating that my character as a mom gets diminished.”
Kim noted that her “only focus” is to remain “strong” for her kids.
