Kelly Osbourne Made It to Season 2 of The Osbournes During 1st Watch

Kelly Osbourne doesn’t regret appearing on her family’s reality show but she actively chose not to watch The Osbournes until very recently.

“I’ve only just this year watched The Osbournes for the first time,” Osbourne, 40, exclusively reveals in the newest Us Weekly cover story. “And I’ve only got through season 2.”

Osbourne admits it has been “so hard” to figure out whether she had any regrets.

“It’s horrible to watch yourself on TV. I don’t care what anyone says,” she notes. “You’re, like, ‘Oh my God, I have a double chin there and my top lip is glistening.’ You will find everything wrong with yourself.”

Overcoming the odds. Over the years, Kelly Osbourne has shared her struggles and successes surrounding her sobriety, weight loss and other personal moments. “I got sober,” the former Fashion Police host exclusively told Us Weekly in May 2021. “I replaced drugs and alcohol with food, my body metabolized differently. Once I got sober and I gained weight uncontrollably, it was […]

While watching the episodes back, Osbourne recalled the issues she was facing at the time, adding, “But what was even harder is that I was struggling so much with my identity, who I was and what I wanted. [This was] on top of my mom [Sharon Osbourne] having cancer and my dad [Ozzy Osbourne] being active in his addictions. It was quite a difficult time.”

The Osbournes, which ran on MTV from 2002 to 2005, starred Ozzy, 75, and Sharon, 72, alongside their youngest children: Jack and Kelly. (Kelly’s sister Aimée chose not to document her life. Ozzy also has three older children from a previous marriage.)

“Going back and seeing the footage, I was like, ‘I f—– wish I realized just how cool everything was and didn’t think I was worthless,’” Kelly confesses. “And that really is a regret that I have because it was such an incredible time.”

After The Osbournes came to an end, Kelly and her family had a short-lived variety series titled Osbournes Reloaded, but it was canceled in 2009 after one season. There were plans for The Osbournes to be rebooted at VH1, but the revival series was ultimately scrapped in 2015.

“I think [my time on The Osbournes] is a blessing,” Kelly adds. “I love that people come up to me and think that they know me. They feel comfortable enough to say certain things that you’re just like, ‘Wow.’ But it means that they relate to you.”

Kelly has continued to live her life in the public eye with cohosting gigs on Project Catwalk, Fashion Police, Project Runway Junior and more. Her biggest accomplishment, however, has been being a mother to son Sidney, whom she welcomed in 2023 with boyfriend Sid Wilson.

Future fans? Reality stars from The Bachelorette, Jersey Shore and more shows are on the fence about letting their kids watch them on TV. After filming six seasons of MTV’s Jersey Shore, four of Snooki & JWoww and three of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi has led her children to believe that she […]

“I don’t remember life before having the baby because everything has changed. I didn’t realize just how powerful the feeling of love was [going to be] when you have the baby,” she gushes to Us. “It’s the most addictive feeling I have ever felt. You realize in that one second, ‘You’ve given me purpose like nothing has ever given me before.’”

Kelly’s life, she says, didn’t really have “purpose” until the birth of her first child.

“I went from thing to thing to thing, this level of self-hate and self-doubt that I used to have would just take me out,” she tells Us. “I don’t believe God would’ve given me a baby during a time when I wasn’t mentally or physically prepared for it. … I’m so glad it happened when I was a little older and I had my s— together.”

She continues: “Turning 40 is the opportunity to be the real me and say goodbye to all of the past. I get to start again.”
