Kate Middleton Creates Elegant Updo Without Hair Tie in Seconds

Kate Middleton doesn’t even need a hair tie to create an elegant updo.

The Princess of Wales, 43, showed off her hairstyling skills while visiting Marina Mill in Buxton, England, on Thursday, September 11. While creating a screen print, Kate collected her mane with both hands before twisting her locks into a tight rope. Kate then twirled her tresses around into a bun before looping her strands into a knot, creating a timeless updo.

Kate teamed her stylish hairdo with a full beat, including filled-in eyebrows, brown eyeshadow, black eyeliner and long lashes. The makeup look was completed with rosy cheeks and pink lips.

The princess dressed casual in a short-sleeved black knit sweater and plaid pants. She tied an apron around her outfit and added a touch of sparkle with gold hoop earrings adorned with diamonds and a chain necklace.

Kate’s hair has been making many headlines as of late after she debuted voluminous blonde tresses before returning to her signature brunette look days later. When social media trolls questioned if her blonde hair was a wig, Princess Diana’s hairstylist Sam McKnight defended Kate via social media.

“I am shocked, horrified, dismayed and disgusted by all the nasty comments about the Princess of Wales today,” he wrote via Instagram on September 4, the same day she debuted the hair color. “A woman’s hair is very personal to her, it’s armor, defense, confidence and so much more.”

The hairdresser went on to explain that he’s “sure” Kate, who was diagnosed with cancer in 2024, “would rather be away from the public arena.”
