Kate Hudson Shares How Hugh Jackman Helped Keep Her Dress Wrinkle-Free

Kate Hudson knew the best way to keep her silk dress from getting wrinkled at the 2025 Governors Awards — and it included turning to pal Hugh Jackman.

Hudson, 46, took to Instagram on Monday, November 17, to share behind-the-scenes moments of the awards, which took place in Los Angeles the previous evening. To avoid her sage green Valentino look from getting wrinkles, Hudson turned to Jackman, 57, for help.

In the pic, the actress hilariously laid across the backseat of a car and leaned against Jackman as he shrugged to the camera and beamed. Hudson laughed and gripped onto the actor’s arm for more support.

“Governors Awards 🦋 @theacademy Thanks to Hugh, silk got no wrinkles 🙏😅 Wonderful night ✨,” Hudson captioned the post.

Hudson’s celebrity friends and fans were quick to compliment her fit in the comments section.

“😍wow,” Jessica Alba wrote. One fan gushed, “You are both gorgeous and elegant. Congratulations! 👏👏.” Another added, “Absolutely stunning 😍,” while more commented green heart emojis.

Hudson, for her part, looked gorgeous in a slip dress featuring a high neck, long sleeves with cutouts and beading and a delicate train. She styled the number with dangling earrings.

Hudson elevated her dress with Old Hollywood glam featuring smokey eyeshadow, filled-in eyebrows, dewy skin, long lashes and nude lips. Her blonde hair was parted down the side and styled in big curls.

Jackman kept his look classy, too, opting for a black tailored blazer and matching pants. He completed his outfit with a crisp white dress shirt and a black tie.

The duo are starring together in the upcoming movie Song Sung Blue, a musical drama based on Neil Diamond’s band. It’s scheduled to release on December 25.

According to the movie’s official plot, the film follows “two down-on-their-luck performers form a Neil Diamond tribute band, proving it’s never too late to find love and follow your dreams.”

Hudson and Jackman previously posed together on the red carpet in October at the 2025 AFI Fest. The How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days star embraced fall trends in a bronze silk dress featuring a plunging neckline and razor-thin straps. Her look was complete with a cinched waist, a column skirt and a delicate cape detail.

Hudson made her look even more autumn-esque with dark red nails, a cherry lip, and gold accessories. She wore a shiny ring and round earrings in the shape of the sun. The rest of her glam was finished with dewy skin, filled-in eyebrows, highlighted cheeks and mascara.

Jackman looked just as dapper in a fitted blazer, a navy blue tie and straight black pants.

The costars wrapped their arms around each other while getting their photograph taken and smiled for the cameras.

Jackson also shared moments from their evening via his Instagram account, including a clip of Hudson walking up to him and posing on the red carpet. The clip showed the pair posing separately before Jackman grabbed Hudson’s hand and posed with her.
