Kate Cassidy Cries While Unpacking Boxes of Liam Payne Memories

Kate Cassidy experienced a slew of emotions while going through items that reminded her of late boyfriend Liam Payne.

“I’m packing up and organizing some things right now and I’ve had these boxes sitting down in my basement for probably three or four months now,” Cassidy, 25, said in a TikTok video uploaded on Thursday, March 20. “I’ve been absolutely dreading opening these boxes and going through these things because they’re the last few things I’ve had in the last couple of months and weeks with Liam.”

After putting off the task for some time to grieve, Cassidy decided now was the time to tackle the daunting task. The influencer explained she was going through things for about an hour and started to get visibly emotional.

“I opened this box. I’m really trying to pull it together now,” she said as she fought back tears. “I found this dress at the top of the box. And this dress brings me so much peace and comfort because [of] the memory me and Liam had in this dress was just a memory that I will literally never forget.”

Cassidy pulled out a yellow satin gown that she wore when she and Payne went to a wedding together.

“It was the first wedding I ever attended … we just had the best time and the best part about this is in another box I found these shoes,” she said while pulling out a pair of ripped-up white heels. “And I remembered the next morning, I woke up [and said] ‘Oh my God look at my shoes they’re so ruined. I don’t know what to do with them.”

Cassidy shared that her footwear started off “almost new” when she wore them for the occasion but her time with Payne left them worn down.

“We literally just danced the night away,” she reflected. “We were dancing all night, walking around this venue exploring. I can’t believe I didn’t throw these out because now … I’m so happy [I didn’t]. This memory is embedded in these shoes.”

Cassidy and Payne started dating in 2022 and remained together until his unexpected death in October 2024. The One Direction singer died at age 31 after falling from a third-floor balcony at the CasSur hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Before his death, Cassidy and Payne were in Argentina together but she returned home days before tragedy struck. Cassidy has since been candid about coping with her grief and her regrets about leaving Argentina.

“Love is so optimistic, and you just hope that everything will work out at the end. Obviously, if I knew, if I could see into the future, I would never have left Argentina,” Cassidy said in an interview with The Sun last month. “I just never thought this would have happened, that it would turn out the way it did. It still doesn’t feel fully real for me that he’s not here.”
