Jennifer Lopez Mixes Casual Jacket, Skirt With Stilettos at AFI Fest
Jennifer Lopez stunned at the 2024 AFI Fest on Saturday, October 26, expertly teaching Us how to blend casual and formalwear on the red carpet.
Lopez, 55, attended the festival’s photocall in Los Angeles for her upcoming movie Unstoppable, rocking a white button-down and a blush miniskirt over an oversized beige jacket. Adding a bit of glamour, Lopez paired her look with tall platform stilettos and a chunky gold ring.
For glam, Lopez wore a smoky eye and pale pink lip. She styled her hair in loose, natural waves.
Lopez stars in Unstoppable, which is an autobiography about wrestler Anthony Robles, who was born with one leg but still managed to win a national championship title. Lopez plays Robles’ mother in the film, which is slated for release later this year.
Unstoppable was a collaboration between Lopez and estranged husband Ben Affleck, who produced the project under his and BFF Matt Damon’s Artists Equity company. Affleck, 52, was not present at Saturday’s film event. (He has similarly skipped other press events, including the TIFF premiere that Lopez stunned at solo in a side-baring gown.)
Lopez and Affleck reunited in 2021, two decades after calling off their original engagement. The Air director proposed for a second time in April 2022 and they eloped three months later in Las Vegas. Lopez and Affleck held a second wedding ceremony at his Georgia estate in August 2023.
Exactly two years after their grandiose nuptials, Lopez filed for divorce.
“The timing of the divorce was a big f— you to Ben,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly in August.
Lopez had filed for divorce, on her own without a lawyer, on August 20 but noted in the paperwork that she and Affleck had been separated since April 26. The singer and Affleck, who each share children from past relationships, have yet to publicly discuss the divorce case in depth.
Earlier this month, Lopez did offer insight into how she’s coping with her new reality.
“I think my whole life I’ve just been trying to say I’m good enough, until where I am now, when I know. I’m giving myself credit. I’m telling that little girl who grew up in the Bronx, ‘You’ve done really good for yourself.’ I didn’t do that for so many years,” she said in an Interview profile.
Lopez continued, “And now I think, with everything that’s happened in my life and in my relationships and even in my career, it’s like, give yourself a bit of comfort and love. We’ve been through a lot of things that nobody knows about, and you’ve persevered and you refuse to give up and to let it get you down.”
