Jason Bateman Walks ‘Zootopia 2’ Red Carpet With Daughters

Jason Bateman had some special guests join him at the world premiere of his new animated flick, Zootopia 2.

Bateman, 56, walked the red carpet at Los Angeles’ El Capitan Theatre on Thursday, November 13, alongside his wife, Amanda Anka, and their daughters, Francesca, 19, and Maple, 13.

The actor, who returns as the voice of fox detective Nick Wilde, color-coordinated with his family as they all rocked black looks. Anka, 56, opted for a sheer lace ensemble, which she paired with black undergarments and strappy heels, as Francesca and Maple wore more covered-up ensembles.

This is the girls’ second public appearance this year as they attended the Black Rabbit premiere in Toronto in September. Prior to that, Bateman’s family was last seen together at his 2017 Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony.

Bateman has been open about the love he has for the girls in his life, even tearing up while thanking them during his 2019 SAG Award acceptance speech for Ozark.

“I would like to say specifically though to my wife, my two daughters ― Amanda, Franny and Maple ― without you, none of it would be enjoyable and it probably wouldn’t be possible,” Bateman said. “I love you more than I even tell you I do, and I’ll be home for kisses so don’t go to bed. Amanda, pop a mint, I’m going to come give you yours in about five minutes.”

As for the follow-up to 2016’s uber successful Zootopia, Bateman is just happy to be back with Disney and voice costars Ginnifer Goodwin, Idris Elba and Shakira.

“Im thrilled to be a part of another Disney animated film,” Bateman said on the red carpet Thursday. “I mean, these things are incredibly well-made, they’re monsters. I think there’s 700 people on the crew on this? I’ve never been a part of something that large. So, it’s a real honor.”

Bateman added that Disney was “so nice, warm and supportive” of him as he tried to voice-act once again.

“I don’t know what I’m doing with this voiceover stuff,” he joked. “They help me out a lot.”

Zooptia 2, in theaters November 26, follows Judy Hopps (Goodwin) and Nick Wilde as they go undercover to pursue Zootopia’s new and mysterious reptilian resident, Gary De’Snake (Ke Huy Quan).

“I love this movie,” Goodwin, 47, told the press. “I love No. 1, I love No. 2. My husband [Josh Dallas] says No. 2 is better, I say I don’t choose between my children.”
