Is Prince Harry in Netflix’s Polo Series? Meet the Show’s Main Stars

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are the executive producers of Netflix’s latest sports series, titled Polo, but do they appear in the show?

The answer is yes — the Duke and Duchess of Sussex actually make a brief appearance. Harry traveled to Wellington, Florida, for the Sentebale Polo Cup, his annual charity polo match. He and close friend Nacho Figueras (who is featured prominently in the show as a legendary polo player) were filmed competing in the charity match, and Meghan was there to award the winner. Harry and his Royal Salute Sentebale team won the tournament.

Sentebale is Harry’s nonprofit that raises money for vulnerable communities in Africa. Senior leadership of the organization was shifted to Southern Africa in December 2024 as viewers watched the charity event on Polo, which premiered that same month.

“The charity event, truly, by chance just happened to be in Wellington this year. It was perfect serendipity that all of this was happening,” Polo showrunner Miloš Balać told Us Weekly exclusively. “I’m really glad that we were able to feature that event because Nacho was such a key part of this whole project from day one.”

Prince Harry’s Polo documentary is coming to Netflix later this year. Netflix announced in September that the docuseries would be dropping in December and gave a little teaser about the game played on horseback. “POLO is a new documentary series that follows elite global players and offers an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the fast-paced world […]

Many of the athletes featured in Polo got a chance to play against the Duke of Sussex at the Sentebale match. And for those new to the polo world, keep scrolling to see which of the sport’s biggest stars are seen on the Netflix show:

Adolfo Cambiaso

The polo legend has been called one of the greatest polo players of all time. Pushing 50 years old, the athlete has already racked up quite the resume when it comes to wins in the sport. However, he’s shown competing against his own son in the 2024 U.S. Open to see which Cambiaso will come out on top.

“The Cambiaso story naturally stands out as an anomaly in sports in general,” showrunner Balać told Us. “To have a father and son competing against each other cross-generationally. … It actually is heard of in the world of polo. Fathers and sons and mothers and daughters will play together and against each other. I don’t know any other sports where that’s even possible.”

Poroto Cambiaso

The up-and-coming champion, Poroto is following in his dad’s footsteps to become a champion polo player. At 19 years old, he’s already held in high regard as a player.

“To see Adolfo and Poroto Cambiaso play — as the two greatest players that may ever play the sport — against each other and be related the way they are as father and son was really special,” Balać said. “Really a no-brainer of that’s going in the show.”

Louis Devaleix

Devaleix is somewhat of a newcomer in the polo world, having started playing the sport at 40 years old after growing up as a golfer. He’s married to Pamela Flanagan Devaleix (Bachelor alum Kelley Flanagan’s sister), and the show follows the couple as they gear up to welcome their first baby.

Balać told Us that the Devaleix story is one that viewers “can latch onto” even if they have no interest in “horses or sports” because they really display a “husband and wife dealing with a pregnancy and the stresses and joys that brings.”

Prince Harry’s longtime friend Nacho Figueras is offering a rare look into their close relationship. “We stay in touch a lot, which is amazing to be able to have a friendship that feels like, although sometimes we’re not together-together, we are always together,” Figueras, 47, told Hello! at the Sentebale Polo Cup. “At least in […]

Timmy Dutta

Another father-and-son story, the Dutta family showcases polo team patron Tim Dutta and his son, 22-year-old player Timmy.

“These are people who, they had a lot to share, and they were willing to share it,” Balać shared with Us about the familial aspects of the show.

Keko Magrini

Magrini is also one of the up-and-coming players that is followed throughout the series. Along with his time on the polo field as an 18-year-old, viewers will also get to see the athlete balance his personal relationships.
