How Sex and the City Creators Asked Kristin Davis About Oral Sex

Kristin Davis will never forget the sexy topics discussed on the set of Sex and the City.
When discussing the show’s seventh episode on the Sunday, March 23, episode of iHeartRadio’s “Are You a Charlotte?” podcast, Davis, 60, remembered a conversation she had about b–wjobs with the show’s creators.
“Cynthia [Nixon] had remembered that when that episode was happening,” Davis recalled. “That Darren [Starr] and Michael Patrick [King] came to us independently, each one of us, and said, ‘You know, how do you guys feel about b–wjobs? Because we’re trying to write this, but we realized that we’re gay men and you guys are straight women. Can you share with us your thoughts?’”
A memory that’s a little bit more fuzzy is what Davis told her peers when asked about the topic.
“I guess we all said our different things,” she told guest Oliver Hudson. “And I know that I didn’t say that I didn’t like it, because I wouldn’t really say that. I might have said, ‘I don’t like someone pushing my head down,’ because definitely who likes that? Nobody, as far as I know. But I didn’t remember that either.”
During the HBO show’s seventh episode of season one titled “The Monogamists,” Davis’ character expressed to a partner that she was not into giving b–wjobs.
While Hudson, 48, joked that he could never have a significant other with that rule, Davis reminded listeners that Sex and the City always tried to provide viewers with a wide variety of experiences.
“There are different women who want different things and this is fine, just like there are different men who want different things,” she explained. “You have to figure out the person that you’re with and whether you were into that, like with Charlotte in this particular episode apparently, which I have forgotten. Charlotte doesn’t like to give b–wjobs, which I think she gets over.”
While Davis’ character had certain sexual preferences in 1998 when the show premiered, she eventually evolved and was interested in trying new things when the show’s spinoff And Just Like That premiered in 2021.
“She’s in this incredible relationship with Harry [played by Evan Handler] and there is a scene in And Just Like That involving a prosthetic with a b–wjob that she is 100 percent willing and initiates and is into,” she said. “So thank God she got over whatever that was.”
And Just Like That season 3 is expected to premiere later this year.
