Heidi and Spencer Pratt Joke About Converting for Hulu’s Mormon Wives

Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt are willing to change religions if it leads to roles on Hulu’s The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.

“We gotta convert for a show? Mormons, here we come,” Spencer, 41, exclusively joked to Us the Us Weekly + Pluto TV Reality Stars of the Year Party at Los Angeles’ Dream Hotel on Thursday, October 10.

Heidi, 38, has not watched the Hulu docuseries but is planning an upcoming binge, telling Us, “I am yet to catch up on that, but I’m so excited.”

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives made a splash on Hulu last month — with star Taylor Frankie Paul even landing a place on Us’ 2024 Reality TV Stars of the Year list of honorees — following a group of #MomTok influencers living in Utah. Taylor, 30, and her fellow social media personalities Whitney Leavitt, Jen Affleck, Jessi Ngatikaura, Demi Engemann, Mayci Neeley, Layla Taylor and Mikayla Matthews are members of the Church of Latter-Day Saints (LDS).

The Mormon Wives stars’ careers on social media have been a way for the ladies to deviate from traditional roles and religious guidelines. A second season was greenlit by Hulu earlier this month.

Spencer and Heidi, meanwhile, have been reality TV royalty from their days on Laguna Beach and The Hills. While they’d been down to appear on Mormon Wives, a TV return would not include another popular franchise.

I am not thinking of the Housewives,” Heidi said with a laugh. “I don’t think they want us. … I said, I’ll move anywhere. I love Utah and, you know, [New] Jersey’s great.”

Spencer, who pitched a return on a “senior citizen series,” also threw out Dubai as a potential Housewives franchise to join.

“I got friends in Dubai!” Spencer said. “Joy Desmond, we can stay at her house.”

Upon hearing that the bash was cohosted by Pluto TV, Spencer jokingly had another idea.

“Do you know if the Pluto executives are here that we could pitch a show too?” he added when asked about his favorite shows to stream on the platform. “Because that’s more what I’m interested in.”

Until Spencer and Heidi make a reality TV deal, they are focused on their home life in California with sons Gunner, 6, and Ryker, 22 months.

“Eighteen years we have been together,” Heidi gushed to Us. “Lots of fun, lots of joy. I think we really just appreciate and love each other and have always prioritized each other.”

Heidi, who called Spencer “the best dad,” then asked her spouse to reveal what he loves the most about her.

“She’s so amazing. She’s perfect. Hello?” Spencer said. “That’s why I’ve been married for so long. Happily.”

In addition, Gunner and Ryker continue to thrive with Heidi remarking that “they’re so cute.”
