Gigi Hadid Teases Part of Her VSFS Walk Is Inspired by Taylor Swift

Gigi Hadid has a special surprise for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show — and the idea came from her BFF Taylor Swift.

“There’s something on the runway tonight that is new for me, at least on this runway,” the model, 29, said to Entertainment Tonight ahead of the show on Tuesday, October 15. “I can’t remember if it’s ever been done on the VS runway.”

While Hadid kept the exact details of her plan under wraps, she added that one element of her runway walk will be inspired by Swift’s Eras Tour.

“There’s an aspect to it that I was trained to do by Taylor on her tour,” she teased. “In one of her rehearsals, she was like, ‘I’m gonna show you how we do this.’ Did that and now I’m using it tonight.”

Hadid and Swift, 34, have been good friends for years. While Swift has continued on her worldwide Eras Tour, Hadid has supported the pop star during multiple legs in Nashville, Santa Clara, California and Paris. Swift is gearing up to resume the final legs of her recording-breaking concert series this week.

Swift will take the stage in Miami on Friday, October 18. Following the Florida concerts, She will make stops in New Orleans, Indianapolis, Toronto and Vancouver before wrapping up in December.

While Swift hasn’t been confirmed to attend the fashion show, she has performed at the event twice in her career. Hadid, for her part, has been a long-time staple for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. The famous Victoria’s Secret angel is putting her wings back on for the runway’s comeback show after a four-year hiatus. Hadid gushed about how excited she was to return for the special occasion.

“The @victoriassecret Show is BACK tomorrow night ! ! LIVE at 7pm EST on @primevideo (+ YouTube, insta, tiktok) and after today’s rehearsal I can confirm that it will forever feel like a dream come true,” Hadid wrote via Instagram alongside a slideshow of pics of her from the runway over the years. “Looking back on some of my favorite VS show moments over the years and I’m so excited to do it again tomorrow, with the most incredible, dedicated, creative VS Team & with so many women I love and some I grew up watching. It is an honor.”

In addition to Hadid, the legendary catwalk lineup includes Adriana Lima, Barbara Palvin, Ashley Graham, Candice Swanepoel, Taylor Hill and Jasmine Tookes. The show will also feature newcomers Mayowa Nicholas, Devyn Garcia, Grace Elizabeth, Imaan Hammam and Paloma Elsesser. Tyra Banks will host the event.

The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show airs live on Amazon Prime Video and Amazon Live beginning at 7 p.m. ET.
