Garcelle Beauvais Denies Weaponizing Kyle Richards’ Sexuality in Convo

Garcelle Beauvais is denying accusations that she weaponized a private conversation about Kyle Richards’ sexuality.

“I absolutely would not have done that and didn’t do that,” Garcelle, 58, exclusively told Us Weekly while attending Casting Society’s 40th Annual Artios Awards on Wednesday, February 13. “What she confided in me has nothing to do with what I said to her. Those are two separate things.”

During a January episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Kyle, 56, joined Garcelle, Sutton Stracke and Erika Jayne for lunch at Chuck E. Cheese.

While chatting over pizza, Garcelle had a suggestion for Kyle as she navigated her split from Mauricio Umansky. “Be whoever you want to be,” she said. “If you want to be a lesbian, be a lesbian.”

In a recent episode of the RHOBH After Show, Kyle said she was not impressed with the joke.

“What was really going through my head was, ‘You’re being an a–hole right now,’” she said, “and don’t try to act, like, ‘Oopsiedaisies.’ You know exactly what you are doing.”

After Kyle and Mauricio announced their separation in July 2023 after 27 years of marriage, some viewers speculated that the Life Is Not a Reality Show author was more than just friends with singer Morgan Wade. (They have never confirmed a romance.)

During a Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen appearance, Kyle further explained why she called Garcelle an “a–hole” for her comments.

“I had a private conversation with Garcelle, which was a genuine conversation and it meant a lot to me so when she did that, I felt, like, ‘Wow. You took our private conversation that really had a lot of meaning to me and you weaponized it,’” she said on February 4. “I really thought we were becoming close and I was happy and looking forward to us becoming closer and better friends.”

As viewers continue to watch their friendship dynamic this season, Garcelle is focused on all aspects of her life, including her role as a TV and film producer outside of Bravo.

“I have a couple of projects that I can’t talk about, but I’m loving this producing thing,” she told Us at The Beverly Hilton Hotel. “It’s one thing as an actor to show up and know your lines. It’s another thing to be involved in all facets of it, and that’s what I’m enjoying.”
