Flatiron Pepper Co. Takes The Humble Red Pepper Flake From Boring To Bursting With Flavor

This holiday season, Flatiron Pepper Co. is offering gift sets that will allow any home chef, grilling enthusiast or spice lover to take dishes from basic to bold in a single shake.

Flatiron Pepper Co., founded in 2016 by Mike Chen and Matt Lenore, works directly with farms and processors to source the highest quality peppers, including Hatch Green Chile, Habanero, Scotch Bonnet, Jalapeno, Arbol, Calabrian, Wiri Wiri, Charapita, Chipotle, and many others.

“Our goal was to fix pepper flakes and introduce a new standard in flavor and quality,” says Chen. “We are committed to using the finest chiles from around the globe — Europe, North, South and Central America, India and Asia — to craft unique and bold flavors that complement, rather than overwhelm, your meals.”

The company has sold more than 3 million bottles to date, and its 14 pepper flake products use specific varieties of chile peppers with unique and complimentary flavor characteristics. Each blend offers varying levels of heat and dynamic flavor profiles.

Just in time for gift-giving season, the brand is offering two holiday sets. The Small Gift Set includes full-size bottles of three signature blends — Four Pepper Blend, Hatch Valley Green, and Dark & Smoky — along with the must-have Flatiron Chile Pepper Grinder for $45.95.

For true chile connoisseurs, the Ultimate Gift Set includes full-size bottles of all eight signature blends — Four Pepper Blend, Hatch Valley Green, Dark & Smoky, Sweet Heat, Asian Reds, Kimsa Q’Uni, “I Can’t Feel My Face,” and Calabrian Chile Pepper — and a Flatiron Chile Pepper Grinder for $109.95.

Fans can also visit the Flatiron Pepper Co. website to create a custom bundle of four or five of their favorite blends.

“We want the world to understand that ‘red’ is just a color, not a kind of chile pepper, and we want to highlight the unique flavor profiles specific kinds of chile peppers have,” Chen said.
