Fans Compare Camila Mendes’ New Red Hair to Madelaine Petsch’s Locks
Camila Mendes has entered her redhead era.
Mendes, 30, took to Instagram on Sunday, November 10, to show off her freshly dyed fiery hair. In the snap, Mendes posed in a bathroom with her cowboy copper tresses parted to the middle and loosely curled. Mendes ran her fingers through her strands — which were previously dark brown — while beaming for the camera.
She paired her new ’do with a trench coat, brown striped sweater and tan slacks. She tied her outfit together with black boots and a silver ring.
For a glamorous good measure, Mendes donned minimal makeup, including mascara, pink lips and a dewy complexion.
“Just a newly minted redhead with a flight delay and an empty bathroom all to herself🩸,” the Riverdale actress captioned the post, tagging her hairstylist Matt Rez.
Fans were quick to compare Mendes’ vibrant mane to her Riverdale costar, Madelaine Petsch.
“Veronica Blossom 😍😍😍,” one commented, combining their respective characters’ names. (Mendes played Veronica Lodge in the Netflix series, which concluded in 2023, as Petsch, 30, played Cheryl Blossom.) “Madelaine it’s you?” another quipped, as a third wrote, “Cheryl Blossom has some competition because YOU ARE OWNING THE RED HELLOOOO.”
While the drama series came to an end after seven seasons, Mendes, Petsch and Lili Reinhart have remained close.
In May 2024, the leading ladies supported Petsch at the Strangers: Chapter 1 premiere in Los Angeles. For the occasion, Petsch wowed in a plunging black dress and smokey eyeshadow. Mendes, meanwhile, opted for a nude scoop-neck dress complete with a pleated skirt. She paired her look with white lace-up heels and simple makeup, as Reinhart stunned in a sheer sequin dress and matching gloves. They enjoyed a sweet moment together on the red carpet and wrapped their arms around each other.
Petsch and Mendes again teamed up last month for a matching Halloween costume. For the spooky holiday, the actresses wore Kim Possible and Shego costumes from the Y2K TV show, Kim Possible.
