Emma Stone Hugs Ex Kieran Culkin at 2025 Oscars Afterparty

Emma Stone and Kieran Culkin are taking home the win for friendliest exes after the 2025 Oscars.

The former couple were spotted together at the Searchlight Pictures Post-Oscars Celebration at Cipriani Beverly Hills on Sunday, March 2, following the 97th annual Academy Awards. Stone, 36, and Culkin, 42, shared a sweet hug as they chatted at the star-studded event.

Elsewhere at the bash, the twosome posed for a group pic with Culkin’s A Real Pain costar and director Jesse Eisenberg, among others.

Stone was joined by husband Dave McCary at the party. In a rare showing of PDA, the actress was photographed sitting on McCary’s lap. (At the Oscars, Stone had another ex in the room — Andrew Garfield — but it’s unclear in The Amazing Spider-Man costars interacted.)

The 2025 Oscars red carpet has been rolled out, and stars arrived in many winning styles on Hollywood’s biggest night. When the 97th Academy Awards kicked off on Sunday, March 2, outside the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, Dancing With the Stars judge Julianne Hough was among the first on the crimson rug.  She hit […]

Culkin, for his part, had the support of wife Jazz Charton as he celebrated his Best Supporting Actor victory. He clutched his trophy while planting a kiss on Charton’s cheek.

Culkin and Stone have crossed paths several times in the years since their brief romance, which began on the set of the 2009 movie Paper Man. The exes previously partied together at the 2022 Met Gala and reunited at the 2024 Critics Choice Awards, where they both won trophies. (Stone took home Best Actress for her role in Poor Things, while Culkin earned Best Actor in a Drama Series for his work on Succession.)

The pair have also proven to be dynamic collaborators. Stone and her husband are both credited as producers on A Real Pain.

“She’s great,” Culkin gushed over Stone during a January 2024 interview with E! News. “She’s a really wonderful person.”

Culkin noted that he was glad to have Stone’s support behind the scenes on the project. “It’s nice because you go into a job and most of the time you don’t really know anybody. But in this case, going in, I’m like, ‘Oh, OK, well, at least that part’s taken care of,’” he continued. “I’m going into a situation where the producers are going to be great, and where the filmmaker will be nice, too. It was good.”

A Real Pain had an impressive awards season, with nominations at the Golden Globes, SAG Awards, BAFTAs and the Oscars. Culkin’s performance earned him multiple wins, culminating with his first-ever Academy Award victory on Sunday.

As he took the stage to accept his trophy, Culkin gave an explicit shout-out to his former Succession costar Jeremy Strong, who was also nominated for Best Supporting Actor.

“Jeremy, you are amazing in The Apprentice. I love your work. It’s f—ing … f—, I cursed. I didn’t mean to. There we go, I cursed. I didn’t mean to,” Culkin said. “I’m not supposed to single anyone out, it’s favoritism. Anyway, but you were great.”
