Details of Jason Kelce’s Massive ESPN Deal Revealed: Report

Jason Kelce was a hot commodity in the broadcasting world after his NFL career came to an end — which is proven by the huge deal that ESPN reportedly made to secure his talents.

Kelce, 37, signed a three-year, $24 million deal with the network, according to The Athletic. The hiring of Kelce was officially announced by ESPN in May 2024, two months after he retired after a 13-year career with the Philadelphia Eagles.

ESPN reportedly won a bidding war with CBS, NBC and Prime Video, who were all actively trying to woo Kelce.

Us Weekly has reached out to ESPN for comment.

Kelce is one of the cohosts of ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown, alongside Scott Van Pelt, Ryan Clark and Marcus Spears. He made his debut on the pregame show in September 2024 and will return to the show next season.

The former football star launched his late-night program, They Call It Late Night with Jason Kelce, in January 2025, which ran for six episodes. ESPN has not announced if They Call It Late Night will return for another season.

In announcing Kelce’s hiring in May 2024, ESPN’s President of Content, Burke Magnus, called him “a highly respected, Super Bowl Champion with a strong connection to fans.”

“Walking off the field and immediately to ESPN, viewers will benefit from his perspective which has been shaped through his years as an established locker room leader and a future Hall of Fame center,” Magnus continued. “Jason’s addition to Monday Night Countdown will greatly strengthen our NFL coverage.”

In April 2024, Kelce explained why he ultimately chose ESPN over the offers from other networks.
