Dennis Rodman Reacts to Daughter Trinity Rodman’s Criticism

Dennis Rodman responded after his daughter, soccer star Trinity Rodman, called out his parenting on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast.

“He’s not a dad,” Trinity, 22, said during the Wednesday, December 18 episode. “Maybe by blood, but nothing else.”

Hours after the episode dropped, Dennis — who shares Trinity and son DJ, 23, with ex-wife Michelle Moyer — took to social media with a message for his daughter.

“Sorry I wasn’t the Dad you wanted me to be but either way I still tried and I still Try and Never will Stop,” Dennis posted via Instagram on Wednesday night. “I will keep Trying even when you’re being told as an adult not to respond to my phone calls.”

Frederick M. Brown/Getty Images Dennis Rodman has confronted his inner “demons” about parenthood through the years. “I think the only major demon I have right now is trying to convince myself that I’m a good dad,” Rodman said during a 2020 ESPN interview.  “It’s very hard for me to try to break out of that […]

On the podcast, Trinity said Dennis has been “trying to call” her lately and she’s been answering “for my conscience.”

Dennis continued: “I’m always here And tell you all the time rather it’s your voice or voicemail how proud I am,” I always had one wish and it was I wish my kids would call me and come see me. Hopefully one day I can get that.”

Dennis said he watches Trinity — who was a member of the Team USA women’s soccer team that won gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics — play soccer “all the time.” Although, Dennis said he recently had a negative experience when he traveled to see her in action.

“Actually flew in to watch you play and was told not to show up bc who I was with instead and me just wanting to support you,” Dennis wrote. “So I watched you from my hotel balcony just to make everybody happy.”

During Trinity’s rookie season with the Washington Spirit of the National Women’s Soccer League in 2021, Dennis made a surprise appearance at one of her games that left Trinity rattled.

“I think it’s like halfway through the first half and I hear [his voice],” she said on “Call Her Daddy”. “I’m like, oh my f—ing gosh, like, there’s no way this is happening right now. Mind you, I haven’t seen him in or talked to him months.”

After the game, Trinity recalled being “mad” about the entire situation.

“I was like, ‘You took this happy moment for me,’” she continued. “Like you f—ed with my head again.”

Ultimately, Trinity managed to compose herself and have a nice moment with her father. “I cried and I was super happy. I was like, let’s take the positive of it. He’s here,” she said.

After that fateful meeting, however, Trinity said she didn’t hear from Dennis for over two years.
