Dance Moms Alum Paige Hyland Finds Lump in Her Breast
After her mom was diagnosed with breast cancer, Dance Moms alum Paige Hyland is opening up about her own heath scare.
On TikTok, Hyland revealed that she was going in to have a breast ultrasound done because she discovered a lump during a self-exam.
“I’m a little bit nervous,” she said in the video. “I’ve been having a lump on my boob that’s been hurting so I’m getting (an ultrasound) done on both of them just to be safe.”
Paige’s mom, Kelly Hyland, who also appeared on Dance Moms, was diagnosed with breast cancer in March.

In August, Kelly shared a video of herself ringing a bell signifying the end of her first breast cancer treatment.
“I got to ring the bell today. This was the end of my first treatment… next steps surgery, 20 radiation and 11 more treatments. I GOT THIS,” she captioned the video.
In her own video, Paige said that because of “everything going on with my mom,” referring to her current cancer battle, she’d “rather be safe than sorry.”
“I’m hoping it’s nothing, just like fatty tissue or something,” she added. “So we are going to be figuring it out.”
In the comments section, her followers sent their prayers and well-wishes, while some shared about their own experience. “I had an ultrasound for what I thought was a lump. Ended up just being dense tissue. Crossing my fingers your scans come back clean,” one comment read.
“My daughter just had a lump removed it was nothing but it was so scary anyways,” another added.
“If you have any questions feel free to ask! I had a fibroadenoma removed at the age of 14 and did tons of research on lumps and what not. Stay strong out here,” a follower shared.
In an interview with E! News, Kelly said the first symptom she noticed before being diagnosed with breast cancer, specifically invasive carcinoma grade 3, was “significant weight loss.”
“I lost enough that others noticed and would ask for my dieting hacks, but there was nothing I had changed in my day-to-day to cause the loss,” Kelly explained.
Kelly shared that she discovered the lump in her breast just eight months after receiving a clear mammogram. “I was shocked that it had grown that quickly.”
Since undergoing her first treatment, Kelly hasn’t shared much more about her ongoing journey.
